Oceanside – 15” doll :pinterest

This was inspired by the Ocean yarn that I purchased. It is so very pretty.
This needs Ocean yarn, white WW yarn, white, DK weight yarn (4.0 mm hook) and a small amount of bright rose eco cotton yarn

Hat…


With Ocean yarn and 5.5mm hook,
Row 1: Ch 3, 11 dc into 3rd chain from hook

Row 2: work dc, ch 1 around (12 dc, 12-ch1)

Row 3: dc in dc, 2dc in every ch1 space

Row 4: dc in 2, 2dc in next around. Ch 1 turn work

Row 5: work FPsc in ever stitch around.

Row 6: Dc around working 1 increase in every 12th dc.

Rows 7-9: work even in dc

Row 10: work FPsc in 1, 2FPsc in next around.

Row 11-12 work even in dc. Break off and tidy ends.

Make a starfish shape from Rose eco yarn and attach to hat.

Bathing suit…
this technique needs more work but the basics are here for this.

With Ocean and 5.5mm hook…
Row 1: Chain 44, 2hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, chain 5, sk 14 ch, hdc in next 11 st, ch 5. sk 14 ch, hdc in next, 2hdc in last

Row 2: 2hdc in 1st, hdc across and 2hdc in last

Row 3: hdc across, ch 4 and join to 1st hdc. (work in rounds and join from now on)

Row 4: hdc around

Row 5:Hdc in 4, hdc dec, hdc across to last 10hdc, hdc decrease, hdc to end.

Row 6: hdc around TBL (through Back Loop)

Row 7: hdc in 4, 2hdc in next, hdc to last 8, 2 hdc in next, hdc to end.

Row 8: hdc around

Row 9: hdc to middle stitch, 2DC in middle stitch, hdc to end.

Row 10: hdc around

Row 11: forming crotch… chain 4 ->join with sc in 16th stitch, sc in stitch 17 and across ch. 4, sl stto ‘last’ stitch and sc back across the 4 crotch stitches. …

You should be at the front of the bating suit so work around this leg opening working sc at the front and hdc at the back – work one hdc dec at the back.

Attach yarn in other leg opening and work as for 1st leg.

Go back to the beginning chain, bodice area. Attach white yarn 2 chains away from the strap. Work 3 dc into the stitch at the base of the strap connect to strap then work across front of bodice working 1 dc in each stitch. Connect to strap and then work 3 dc into stitch at base of this strap and join in 2nd chain from strap. Break off White.

Attach Ocean 3 st up on strap and work tr in 2whte dc, dc dec in 2 (1 dec), hdc in 2, dc dec in next two, tr in next 2 secure to other strap. Break off.

Go to row 6 of the bathing suit (back loop row)
Row 1: Attach white in an available loop back of suit, work 2 dc in 1st , dc in 2, 2dc in next, around

Row 2: work a dc in each single dc from row 1 and work 2 dc into each of the 2dc from below.

Work another row even if you wish. I ended here.

Bathing suit cover up worked in DK yarn and 4.0mm hook…

Rows 1-9: Ch 39, dc in 5th chain from hook… work dc/ch 1 mesh for 9 rows evenly

Row 10: work dc/ch1 mesh for 4 stitches, dc in dc only and in next 2 dc, continue in mesh to the last 6 sts, work dc in dc only over three stitches, end with mesh for last 3 sts. Break off.

Row 11: ch 9, pick up back and work in the pattern established on row 10, chain 11. turn

Row 12: dc in 4th ch from hook and next 8 ch, follow mesh and solid pattern established across back and end with 10 solid dc on other sleeve. Ch 4 and turn

Row 13: dc in 3rd dc, ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next 3 times, dc in next, continue across back in established pattern, at sleeve, work 2dc then work dc/ch 1 mesh to end

Rows 14 – 17: Continue in the established pattern (see pic) of mesh and solids as shown.

Row 18: Work est. pattern to the 3 dc block, ch 2 (3?) and turn

Row 19 -22: continue in established pattern

Row 23: ch 4, dc in same st as ch, continue across in pattern.

Row 24: work across front and sleeve in pattern and work increase mesh at neck edge

Row 25 increase another mesh as in row 23.

Row 26: work in pattern stopping at the first dc of the 2dc group that marked the sleeve. Ch 4 turn

Row 27: work in mesh to the 3dc block, change these back to mesh stitches (add the ch 1s) and continue across row.

Continue in mesh for 9 more rows. Break off leaving a very long tail for sewing together. ( you should end at the side seam; if you did not, do whatever it takes :wlol )


Repeat for other side.. attach yarn at the sleeve edge and you should be able to mirror the first side and end up at the side seam again.

With Rose and 4.mm hook work ch 3 loops around the edge of the cover-up.

Work ch 30 ties to each side and make a nice ending on the ties. (work 2dc into 3rd ch from hook for instance)

Work 3 bubbles in Ocean by working a sc circle, an hdc circle and a dc circle. With tails long enough to sew to front of cover up.

Beach bag... With rose and 4.mm hook

Row 1: Ch 4, work dc/ch1 into 4th ch from hook 9 times.(10 dc, 10 ch 1) join.

Row 2: work V-st (dc-ch1-dc) ch 1 into every dc from first row. join

Row 3 and up: work dc/ch 1 mesh for each row and join

For the 4 straps, work ch 10/ sc into space between 1/4 of the dc around. Join to 1st ch. Break off and tidy ends.

With Ocean. Chain 50. work through the 4 loops of the straps and then join to form a ring. Tie the ends of the yarns into a tiny bow.

However, I do not permit the selling of my patterns for money. I have once given permission for a booklet to be made of them for a charitable sale and I may do so again *if I am asked* and if it is for a church, charity or school type group. But first you have to ask.

Furthermore, If you choose to use my patterns as a money maker, I do not permit my images to be used for any advertizing of your work. You must make your own item and photograph that. These images are as much a part of my Web image as a designer as the patterns are and I reserve that use to myself alone.

Darski, Thank you so much for all of the different patterns you have posted. Have Granddaughters and also am able to get a few dolls now and again at Dollar store...have 3 different ones. I always make some of the dolls up for Christmas for charity here locally. So your patterns have been a big inspiration to me and have printed some out. If have smaller dolls I just alter pattern. Thanx again. Crfty

:tyThank you for this note. I have always hoped that other would see how to make doll clothes and just make them work for whatever size tehy have. I love that what I do, inspires you to make a little bit of joy for others. :ty
