Am I reading it right that you sl st into the ch1 spaces? You don't actually connect the last round thru all the stitchss?

Yes,the squares are slip-stitched together in the ch-i spaces & the ch-2 corner spaces.

Yarncat - you just inspired me...

I have been trying to think of a way to create a "stained glass" look without using variegateds... while looking at your squares, it hit me to join two contrasting colors while making my squares! I know how I'm doing my scrap-ghan now! LOL!

Thank you for posting this so clearly. this is the method that I plan to use for the afghan I am now making. I have the directions from Pricilla Hewit, but yours are much clearer with the pictures you provided. I hope it will work with a scalloped edge instead of the the one you have on yours. I hope I can do it!!!!:)

What a wonderful way to join squares. I have always stayed away from

doing afghans with squares because my very first large project was granny

squares and it took me forever to put it together and weave in all the ends!!

Thank you another way of joining squares!!!
