Good Morning, House mates!!

Cheeria, congrats on winning the squares!:yay You're going to be busy:lol

Jules, I won't be doing the penny thing...and with my yarn colors I'm not sure what pattern I'll be working on next - other than finishing my ATW (baby size).

Marisa, oh, yes...I can see us doing more updates:lol

Linda, I'm so glad Ayden loved his books! I always give books to young children when I can. It's great things for him to have too, after you have to leave.:hug

Joanne, we were switiching from Yankees to hockey to Poker all night. Some games!!

Here's the shawl Linda made for me

Also here's a pic of my newest blanket going to the NICU on the 14th

Oh, Her shawls are so gorgeous! Love the colors, too, and your baby ghan is beautiful - your a very talented knitter:yes

I hope you all don't mind all the photos I share!? LOL

I'm so glad you figured it out!:hook

Got two walls upstairs painted, curtains swapped out, pillows washed and packed away, laundry done and 6 rows done on the Tree of Life ghan...and some other things, but that's about it for now.

Oh and while upstairs, put on The Producers (the musical with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane) so we were still within the theme.

Wow, you make me tired!:lol

BBL!! Have agood one, everybody :hug

I'll give this another try with the pics. I waited and it looks like it's going to work. Thanks for all the help! It was easier than I thought it would be.

Very, very nice! And it looks like ALL of us had curly edges;)

Good morning ladies!

Cheeria, Congrats on winning the squares and a new afghan book! Can't wait to see it put all together.

I knew your secret on how to put the baby to sleep. I use to sing to my gs Payton to. I made up a songs.

Lissa, The shawl is beautiful! The blanket is to! You did a great job on knitting it.

Linda, That was really nice of you to make Lissa a shawl. It is beautiful!

I'm glad your having a great time. It always seems like when your on vacation it goes by so fast. Your books for Ayden sounds like they were a big hit.

Diane, Your rr's are beautiful! Cute story about ggs potty training. We gave Maya special treats for using the potty (m&m's). That is exciting news about your nephew being picked for the BlueJays.

Tam, Your square is pretty. Sorry you are suffering, I hope the chiropractor can get things feeling better soon. I hope Michael's levels go down soon.

Sherri, Sounds like you have a good plan with your knitted ripple.

Tab, Congrats on winning the chopstick hook!

Mary, Nice to see you. I hope things get better with your folks and mil. Hang in there.

LeAnna, Sounds like you had a nice day yesterday, very productive.

Joanne, Congrats on the tote and the chopstick hook. That hook is quite interesting--that they could make them out of chopsticks.

Judy, You and Phil are on a roll with the new furniture and new floor. Enjoy!

Julie, I hope the doctor your seeing this morning is the one to help you.

My hubby has had an issue since 2002. He was at work and they called me they thought he was having a heart attack. He wasn't. But we've been to two different heart doctors and through all the test and he passes them all. They did find a little bit of blockage but they said not enough to cause these chest pains. He did have a hiatal hernia and had surgery for it. The pains did not happen for 3 months after the surgery so we thought that was the cause, but they started again and he still haves them. We went back to that surgeon and they did another test and said he has another small hiatal hernia but it shouldn't becauseing the chest pains, but if they don't go away or get worse come back. Last year he decided to go to the va and see if they might help him. We go to the one in AnnArbor, Michigan. The doctors there are from the UofM hospital. My bil was a diabetic and had many health issues from it and he went to the same va and highly recommended it and the doctors. Tomorrow we see the specialist that works on the espoghus. A nurse we seen last fall said he is the best in the state. We had an appointment in december but had a snowstorm so we had to cancel then we went to Texas so now hopefully this doctor will have some answers.

All he has to do is walk to the car and the chest pains come on.

I'll join the ripple gang. I have a rr going right now.

Today were going to Maya's house. We save an hours drive off the trip to AnnArbor tomorrow morning. Have to get things packed up. Going to go to the library and get Maya two new books. I read both of these to here twice yesterday.

I'll check in later. I hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning. :coffee

I spent an hour on the treamill this morning and still have 45 minutes left to fit in sometime this afternoon. Now I just want to sit and do nothing, but alas, the LTK will never get done that way.

Julie-o you can put me down for the ripple game.

Cheeria, congratulations on winning the V squares. :yay I'll try to get those out to you sometime this week.

Have a great day all. :)

Finally got Sherri's Red, White, and Blue card in the mail today. The mailman should be picking it up this afternoon.

I'm really enjoying having Mom here. I wish I could keep her! But alas she'll have to head back home all too soon. I know that my son will miss having her here too. Each morning he asks where she is if she isn't up and moving by the time we are.

Now to try to find some "Summer" inspiration.

Marlene, I hope and pray the doc discovers the reason for your hubby's chest pains. Hubby has gone through stuff that couldn't be figured out and it's so very hard to live with that uncertainty - like what Jules is going through, too.

We're all here for you.

:hug

Ayden sounds so sweet - reminds me of Jules and her relationship with Cam, her grandson.

How old is Ayden?

The shawl is beautiful ~~ And did you crochet or knit the yellow babyghan ? It looks knit from the picture but I could be wrong .

Linda- that's great that you are enjoying yourself . Maybe one of these days you will retire and move closer to your grandson,do you think ,on down the road, maybe you can do that ?

I tend to doubt that I will move north again, but you never know. Walking on ice and snow with a total knee replacement is dicey at best. And six months or more of no sun does not do good things for my depression.

I'll give this another try with the pics. I waited and it looks like it's going to work. Thanks for all the help! It was easier than I thought it would be.

Congratulations on getting the picture uploads figured out.

It's been a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Ayden is 6 1/2. He'll be 7 in October. He is such an adorable little boy. He's full of energy and yet he's willing to sit and do quiet things too.

Thanks for all the complements on the shawl ladies. I usually try to have one on hand for when I find out about someone who I think needs one.

I get to try my hand at long arm quilting later today. I'm looking forward to that. I'll let you know how it goes later.

Hope the doctor visit goes well, Julie.

:hug:hug:hug to all having health problems.

Have a great day. I'll check in again later.

:cheerI WANNA BE IN THE RIPPLE GANG.

Julie, Hope your appt is going well. Know it must be frustrating not knowing. Being in limbo is tough. :hug

Linda~Your shawl is gorgeous. You always make such lovely things.:yes

LeAnna~Sounds like you had a very productive day, I always put music on when I have major projects to do around the house, although I tend to put on Motown or Philly (love Hall and Oates).:dance

Joanne~thanks for posting the picture of the hook. It looks cool!

Lissa~I love seeing all the photos and your NICU blanket is very pretty. It looks cuddly and soft. I am sure they appreciate all your good work.

Judy~Yup, my edges curled too. Blueberry muffins, YUM!

Sheila~Hope things are going well for you. Has it cooled down yet?

I'll give this another try with the pics. I waited and it looks like it's going to work. Thanks for all the help! It was easier than I thought it would be.

Your squares look great! Looks like you got the photo thing figured out.:)

Last year he decided to go to the va and see if they might help him. We go to the one in AnnArbor, Michigan. The doctors there are from the UofM hospital. We had an appointment in december but had a snowstorm so we had to cancel then we went to Texas so now hopefully this doctor will have some answers.

My husband goes to the VA and he has had excellent care. Can't say enough good things about them. Only drawback is...it takes forever to get an appt. Hope your DH gets some answers. :hug

BBL...we also have someone coming to measure the entry way floor so I'm going to be busy....:)

How exciting, we need flooring so bad, I am envious.

I'm really enjoying having Mom here. I wish I could keep her! But alas she'll have to head back home all too soon. I know that my son will miss having her here too. Each morning he asks where she is if she isn't up and moving by the time we are.

How long has your mom been visiting? How far away does she live from you. I loved it when my mom could come and visit. She's unable to make the trips anymore so we go to visit her.

Sorry if I missed anyone. Hope we all have a good, healthy productive day. :manyheart

Hey Marisa- sure, you will be in for the game in Sept -- you dont have to do the ripple to do it, I just thought I'd toss that in there as a little extra incentive for people to get their ripples completed . ( ME MAINLY )

Marlene - your squares are so pretty . I cannot wait to see this afghan put together. It'll be really unique .

Hi everyone, back from camping. it was fun, but exhausting. I am now sitting around, doing laundry and reading a book.

Oh, Sherri, you are very brave to rip your knitting back.:nworthy My sister does that too. Doesn't even think twice about it, just lets it rip. I, on the other hand, am so paranoid about it, I unknit, one stitch at a time.

me too!

How old is Ayden?

As Mom said, he's 6.5 years old. He just finished Kindergarten and is already excited about 1st grade.

How long has your mom been visiting? How far away does she live from you. I loved it when my mom could come and visit. She's unable to make the trips anymore so we go to visit her.

Mom arrived last Friday and will be going back on Sunday. She lives much too far away in my opinion. She's a couple days away by car or a few hours by plane, so I only get to see her once a year if I'm lucky.

Hey Housemates,:clap

I just found out a former co-worker of mine has a TV series starting tomorrow night. Here are the details.

Cody Lundin taught survival skills at the college where I worked. (It is generally described as a hippie college) and Cody looks like a hippie, long braids and doesn't wear shoes. The series is called Dual Survival and will air on the Discovery Channel, starts tomorrow, Friday nite at 7 and 10. The premise is, Cody and another survivalist are put into desperate situations with little gear and they must survive. They teach things that would help if you were lost in the mountains or desert, in a plane crash, shipwrecked, you get the drift. They show what you can do and need to do to survive and get rescued. From personal experience I can tell you Cody is one of a kind, the real deal (and because he hasn't worn shoes for 20 years he has really gnarly feet, ewwww).:eek They have 10 episodes scheduled, don't know after that. I wish him well.

Here is a link for some clips from the show.
