Orange Crochet/Fabric Dress

Hello!

 

I did this without a pattern, well that's not true...not an official pattern but a combination of ideas...

 

The dress idea is from a thread at the 'Ville (the images are missing) which came from this link:

The headband is from http://www.luv2crochet.com/salepatterns.html - it is the pattern for the Tank Top on that page.

 

The stitch I used for the bodice has become my most favorite stitch of all time:

Thank you for the kudos! My daughter's favorite color is orange so I tried to find something that matched with the yarn. Look at her tan! I didn't realize she looked so dark!

 

I think I made the bodice a bit too long, but I can fix that by bringing up the straps a bit.

What a beauty! Nice dress,too. I also love that baby blanket pattern-what a great idea to use it for the bodice. How did you keep it from being too holey? I'd like to do a top for my little girls but many crochet stiches aren't very modest. Your's looks like it would pass the dad test.

Adorable, dress and model, I love the colors and they look great on your daughter.

Oh yeah, that stitch is way cool for privacy, unless you are um, well, um, endowed in that area, but perfect for a little girls.

 

I used a very soft yarn, similar to Caron SS and a size "F" hook - which then made the stitches pretty tight anyway.

That looks so good. I've made that dress pattern the way it said but I made my bodice just a little longer than they show. I'll have to get a pic of them. I love making the crochet & fabric dresses.
