Made this cabled scarf...it's difficult to see because of the yarn, but if you click on the pic to see an enlarged version, you should be able to see the cables...it still needs a border to tidy it up. It actually looks a lot better than what the pictures shows.

Another cabled scarf ...that's hard to see :blush

In the future I think I will stick to solid colors for cables...

Hi everyone!

I just saw this thread and I did just finish a scarf for a friend's birthday last week. The pattern, The Surreybelle Scarf is actually from a member of this thread, "Heart" and can be found herehttp://sarahsweethearts.blogspot.com/2009/08/craftee-saturdeethe-surreybelle-scarf.html

I love this pattern and have started another one- I picked up some very pretty caron simply soft chunky in wine country and am using it for this scarf pattern. It looks so nice, but is so EASY--thanks Heart for a great pattern!!!! Think this pattern just may be my go to scarf pattern- that and the Belle Scarf from Lion Brand which works up really quick. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80962AD.html?noImages= I made a bunch of those last winter!

Mmm. just noticed that the two scarf patterns that I love have the name "Belle" in them and my DD and SIL's pup is named Belle.:lol

All of the scarves I've seen on this thread are beautiful!

Here's a pic of The Surreybelle scarf I made.

Cheryl your scarf is so pretty - and boy am I envious of anyone who can crochet with homespun yarn...

Marisa your scarf/hat sets are really nice - what pattern are you going to use for the mittens?

Joanne I like that scarf in the caron...very pretty!

And Meg...5 scarves REALLY?!?! You are a machine!

I'm using a red heart pattern (first link) for the girl's mittins and am not sure just yet if I'll use the same one for the boys or a different one :think

Well, as I was pulling up the 3 patterns I printed off to share with you, I made my decision that I will use the same red heart pattern for the boys mittens. The second one doesn't have a child's size and the last one is done with homespun, which is not what I'm using and am not good at adjusting stitches :( However, I think I'll use that one for myself in the future :think
