Baby stuff! Please share your favorite pattern!

Recommended Posts

Guess what? I get a younger sibling in September! :woo

My mom is pregnant with #8! (I'm #1) It has been 4 years since my little sis was born, so I'm excited to have another baby in the family! We haven't found out what it is though, so I'm making stuff for either gender just in case. If my mom can't use the clothes, I have 3 cousins who are pregnant that could! So whatever I make will go to good use.

Anyways, I was hoping for some ideas for baby items and if you could share with me you favorite pattern! I have great hopes in mind for what my little sibling will get!

Thanks! Lilly Flower

(I'm a teen, so it is normal for my me to get another sibling;))

HI Lilly Flower! Congrats on the new arrival. My little sister is 14 years younger than us (I have a twin sister) and my little brother is 21 years younger than us, what a hoot! We get to spoil them rotten then send them home! Here's one of my favorite patterns:

Thanks for sharing! This new arrival will be almost exactly 15 years younger than me. My birthday is in September, so I get to share a birthday month with the little baby! I love babies, they are so cute!

There are SO many cool (& quick) baby patterns out there. Off the top of my head, in addition to Brenda's booties, the BICO sweater, Bev's Round Bib, & Baby Bubbles Blanket. There are all available thru CPC & Ravelery.

And I've got a pattern for one of my favourite afghan patterns on my blog - look in the section 'Free Crochet Patterns - Links' and you'll find it. I second Brenda's booties, they're really super. I also like the baby round ripples, but I haven't made one yet but a lot of people seem to like Aggie May's pattern.

Congratulations, I'm the eldest of nine :yes so I got to make lots of stuff for little brothers and sisters

Not sure what it is going to be yet, so I am making things for both genders! If my new sibling can't use it, I have 3 cousins who could! I learned to crochet in 2008, so it is my first time to be making stuff for a younger sibling! Yay!

I love the stuff that Suzie has on her blog. Do a search for Suzie's stuff and you will come up with some nice things. She has a great cocoon pattern on there.

These are my two "go to" sweater patterns" It's also fun to work them in bright colors,a nd add a flower (for a girl) to the second one:

I LOVE this sweater sweater pattern: http://www.yarnydays.com/2009/01/bombay-love.html

This is also a nice, classic pattern: http://bellabambinaknits.blogspot.com/2008/03/cardigan-for-babies.html

Also, this is the link to my Newborn baby gown, which I LOVE. (had to throw THAT in there, right? :-P )

I have three friends who are all pregnant right now, so I've been working on lots of bibs! I use Lily Sugar'n Cream cotton (as well as one of their patterns from http://www.sugarncream.com) and they are really cute and really quick! Congrats on the new sibling!

Lilly flower, I have one more fun project to add:

This froggy hat: http://sandyfroglegs.blogspot.com/2009/07/frog-head-hat.html

I have made it with a hot pink mouth for a girl and a red mouth for a boy. They turn out really cute. Oh, and you can use ANY hat pattern, then add the eyes. I usually make my eyes out of yarn, a small sc circle of black or blue with two sc in each blue (or black) stitch in white.

Congratulations on your upcoming little brother or sister! Babies are such fun and fun to make things for. Here are several things that I have found fun to make

The MIA hat with the tassles came from www.crazysocks830.etsy.com

The yellow cotton diaper cover and beanie came from www.warmandfuzzybaby.etsy.com I don't have a picture of it alone but maybe you'll be able to see it in this bunch of thing I had made for photo props for a photographer.

I have made these in different colors. One was in blue and I crocheted a sun with a face for the back of the diaper cover. One set was in red for Christmas and I edged the diaper cover and beanie with white fun fur then put a big green bow on the seat. These are really fun to change up however you wish

My fav. pattern for babies in the bearghan. I don't have a direct link but its a free pattern by Pat Liles. Google her and you'll find it

HappyStitcher, my toolbar translated the page into English. Here is the link. I hope you find it translated. If not let me know and I'll copy the English directions for you

How do you translate it to English? :think

Deb, on my toolbar I had to go to the "page" link/button/selection (whatever it's called) and hit the down arrow to find "Google Translate" - then I clicked on that and told it to translate the site.

Look up at your toolbar - do you have a "page" selection?
