I want to see the sweater!!!!!!!LOL

Amm. About the picot baby blanket border. Not getting back to that one yet!!!LOL I am picking up the "crochet granny classic" afghan that I put down a year ago because it was for a DS and his then girlfriend and I didn't like the girlfriend!LOL Well, they have gone their seperate ways and I have decided to make it for someone else. I guess this may not fit in the "I really don't want to be making this pattern" now, but it did last year!!! I have 4 more squares to make and attach and then the border. I wrist is acheing a bit after completing the Shawler that I was working on today so I think I will put up the crochet till tomorrow. Yea. Like that could happen!!!!!!!!!LOL

Thanks Dianne. DD's sweater has 1/2 a sleeve to go. I did finish off the first one, and then I decided the sweater was too short in the waist, so I frogged a couple rounds of sc (Boucle yarn no less!:eek) and added a bit of length. we were up late watching the debate so I got half a sleeve done.:P (My kids are both long-waisted. They outgrow shirts the fastest, and always at the waist it seems! So a few extra inches of length couldn't hurt)

btw,How's the picot baby blanket border coming? I had a doily once with tons of picots...by the time I got done, I had learned to get along with them:P they do look nice when they're done, thankfully :yes

nss, can't wait to see your FO's :yay

I have 4 ends to tuck on that Granny thing I was doing. I will post a pic of that later today or tomorrow hopefully. Ok. The granny thing will be done today so I guess that means I need to get out that baby ghan with the picots border!!! :P

Okay, got the batteries charged...no more excuses :P Here's a picture of the sweater I made for DD. She's quite pleased with it. I made it using the Sensations Rainbow Boucle from JoAnns. So far it seems to wear well...though I'll never toss it in the "regular" cycle on the washer :eek

I really ought to get started on Christmas projects, but lately I've just not been in the mood for much of anything. Pathetic really. I think my mom would love those heart valance-type curtains another villager posted...I'll have to have a sib who lives closer measure the window I'm thinking of. (and confirm color choice). Right now I'm just doing little projects, psyching myself up, I guess. :P

The sweater is loverly!!! I love it also.

Well, I have been working on that baby blanket that has so many picots. I am finding that it is not so bad as long as I am watching TV while I am working on it. Getting close to the end of that one. Then, it sill be off to the basement to see if there is soemthing else that I don't really want to finish but needs to be done.

Your welcome!!!

He might have some place between 30 and 50. I am thinking about counting them later.

I got started again on his Steelers afghan. I don't always know what time he will be home from work so, I hope that I can get it put away before he walkes in the door!!!LOL

wow, nancy, you got a lot done for 2 weeks hunting! (what, no deer?:lol) they look great. the scarfs are fun and the rr is so bright and cheery.

I'm discovering that sensations boucle does not hold up to little boys...even with handwash it's starting to go fuzzy. Now what to do with all the rest I bought? some will go to MIL for a travel throw, she should like the color, and it won't get used a ton so it should hold up well for her. I have way too much of the stuff. :eek

Love the afghan and the scarves. I am starting a scarf today. I have been practicing the different stitch instead of doing 3 sc at the end of a row. I think it looks pretty good. Have a bunch of nephews that I think I want to make them for.

I started a pair of slipper socks for DS...stash-busting ones I hope. (I'm sick of that yarn). I'm still doing mostly little things...that by the time I remember to put them in my siggy, they're done. I think with some of that sensations boucle, I might make a hooded-scarf thingy. haven't started yet though. I have a huge ball of sensations rainbow classic pink that I'm trying to use up...it's filling my small "travelling" project bag. grr. So it's not a specific project, it's specific yarn I don't wanna deal with at the moment. :P kristies toy drive is benefitting from the pink though :D

I have a couple of skeins of a thin boucle that a friend gave me a couple of years ago. I forget I had it till you mentioned boucle!!LOL Well, I started the afghan that it went with and had a great deal of trouble with it. I think that after I get some of the things I need (don't want to do) done and what I am doing for Christmas this year I will have to pull that out and add it to this post!!!LOL

Thanks a lot for reminding me I have that project going!!!!!!!!!LOL

Here is a pic of the granny classic. I really did like this pattern. I just didn't want to make it for the person that it was supposed to be for last year for Christmas, so I didn't, I gave it to someone else. It had 4 panels to go and the border. Got it out a couple of weeks ago, finished it and now it has a loving home!!!

thanks... as soon as i get the strength to work on these i will be sure to post pics...not to mention i need to make candy or something to put inside the stockings. :bang i always seem to get myself into these messes!

this secret santa type gift thing is for

a woman

between the ages of 45 and 47

she enjoys baking and her kitchen is her domain.

she is very into faries and goddesses

she is a hippy at heart

and is the type of woman who will always have her door open to all of her "children" she has hundreds of "children" that go to her on a regular basis...

im looking to make her something that is for her only... something that will be added to her retreat time when she curls up with a book or listens to her cds of celtic new age music

she said she wanted a scarf but well thats just not enough being as the rules are that you need to spend at least $50 and everything needs to be hand made!

sorry about that little rant...im hoping that someone on here will have a good idea as to something this ecentric woman would love so i can get a move on! the simpler the better being as my plate is over full! :lol

thanks! as colorful as the hippy at heart sounds she is a fairly nude person. her home is very much country colors with mostly maroon and dark blue, her kitchen looks like an older diner black white and red...her bed room is hunter green... i am really really confused as to where im going to go with this present... you would think with the free spirit that she is that making her something would be easy.... think again! :lol thanks for helping me think! it means alot!

I found another project to finish!:eek after I clear up this ball of pink (which did come in handy today after all), I must unearth the cardy-style top I made last year. I already popped a seam (:oops pulled too hard) and I don't like how the edging turned out so it needs to come off altogether. Sad to say, it's been hiding since late last winter.

I have a sewing project I sorta started (I cut it out) that I haven't started--sewing machines don't always like me--that might have to join the CAL :P

I think that you and I will be around for quite some time.

Glad the pink has come in handy!!!!LOL

I so totally wish that my sewing machine worked. 18 years ago when we moved my DH and his brothers did not give me time to get it out of the cabnet that it is in before they decided to move it. It is now lodged in the cabnet so bad that I may never be able to get it out. If I could, I would take it in for someone to work on. I used to love to sew!!!!

Good day anyone!!!LOL

I am a little less the 3 rounds from being done with the border of the Picot baby blanket that I really don't want to be working on. My mom is pushing me to get it done. It started out as just a project to do while sitting in waiting rooms. Well, it now has a home. My cousin's 17 year old daughter just had a baby girl. So, I will be sending it on to them when it is done.
