  1. well everyone! here is my very first attempt at amigurumi and i think it came out great being as i didnt have a pattern! tell me what you think! ps. i made two...they are a bit different from one another but i think that just gives them character! #1 #2
  2. thanks for all the wonderful ideas! along the ideas of the cookie pot holders and stuff.... i think im going to make her place mats and coasters that look like records ...and maybe a scarf and a farey done in Amigurumi style ... i just made her a witch in such a way and she loved it... anyway thanks so much and if anyone comes up with some more ideas....let me know because my ideas will keep changing right up until the very last moment lol! im just one of those oooo thats a better idea type of person! lol
  3. thank you for all the great ideas. hopefully i figure out what im going to do soon
  4. thanks! as colorful as the hippy at heart sounds she is a fairly nude person. her home is very much country colors with mostly maroon and dark blue, her kitchen looks like an older diner black white and red...her bed room is hunter green... i am really really confused as to where im going to go with this present... you would think with the free spirit that she is that making her something would be easy.... think again! thanks for helping me think! it means alot!
  5. this secret santa type gift thing is for a woman between the ages of 45 and 47 she enjoys baking and her kitchen is her domain. she is very into faries and goddesses she is a hippy at heart and is the type of woman who will always have her door open to all of her "children" she has hundreds of "children" that go to her on a regular basis... im looking to make her something that is for her only... something that will be added to her retreat time when she curls up with a book or listens to her cds of celtic new age music what do you make for a woman as special and eccentric as she? the simpler the better...my plate is already way to full! thanks!
  6. thanks... as soon as i get the strength to work on these i will be sure to post pics...not to mention i need to make candy or something to put inside the stockings. i always seem to get myself into these messes! this secret santa type gift thing is for a woman between the ages of 45 and 47 she enjoys baking and her kitchen is her domain. she is very into faries and goddesses she is a hippy at heart and is the type of woman who will always have her door open to all of her "children" she has hundreds of "children" that go to her on a regular basis... im looking to make her something that is for her only... something that will be added to her retreat time when she curls up with a book or listens to her cds of celtic new age music she said she wanted a scarf but well thats just not enough being as the rules are that you need to spend at least $50 and everything needs to be hand made! sorry about that little rant...im hoping that someone on here will have a good idea as to something this ecentric woman would love so i can get a move on! the simpler the better being as my plate is over full!
  7. just a quick update on the in law blankets... the hot pink and black one is about 45% there and we have decided to 86 the lime green and black one because ive just had a rather pain in the butt project thrown on me that needs to be done by December 20th (25 mini stockings and 25 snowflake ornaments) as well as a secret santa gift that i really have no idea what to make.... so it looks like im going to be a part of this cal for quite some time! lol
  8. thanks! hopefully this will help me... although for some reason its confusing me lol
  9. hey everyone! i hope someone can help me out! i am looking for a simple sc baby sweater... both pull over and button down... i was playing around with the idea of just winging it...and then decided with all the other things i am just winging that this is something i really need to find a pattern of sorts for (because of sizing issues and such). i would prefer something with little to no shaping required... thanks sooooooooo much! i have looked around and found nothing that is just basic sc...but it is possible that i have missed something somewhere... fyi: the reason i am looking for it in sc is because i plan on using a graph to do a design on the back of each sweater and on the button down one i plan on putting a design on each side of the front in addition to the back design... this is proving to be more difficult then it needs to be maybe i just need to take a breather and relax... every "pattern" ive tried to come up with on my own is just not working... ive got crocheters block if you will
  10. okay so i did a whole lot of searching and just like you i came up with nothing...so i sat here and studied your pic...and this is what i came up with... hopefully this helps... im not sure that its exact but you could simply count the stitches and adjust it accordingly. good luck! im not sure if you can read my hand writing so here is what it says on the side. 2 rows DC at the bottom follow the "pattern" for 9 rows using this guide: V (where its pink): do 2 puff stitches in the same stitch [] (the black boxes): your going to skip the stitch by chaining 1 l : do 1 DC in each stitch then its: 2 rows DC at the top then do it all over again! 23 stitches across and 13 rows up like i said...you can adjust it by counting what you already have and adjusting it... i hope this helped!
  11. here is the first of many things i am going to make the baby who is due in late may... its a bit different for a baby...but then again we as parents are a bit different too!
  12. here is the first blanket i started for our baby (due in the end of may!) this is also my first time working from a chart/graph. anyway here it is! tell me what you think!
  13. thanks so much... i think i am actually going to use "pork chop" for the blanket ... we call my wife pork-chop-a-stak because her last name is letostak so now we are calling her a stuffed pork chop... its funny... but i think that will be perfect... im going to make one of these for our 5 year old as well and i think its going to say "birdy" her name is joy...we call her j-bird or birdy... lol wow we are some twisted people thanks for pointing me to the pattern for the bowling pins! i cant wait to get started on all this fun stuff!
  14. was just wondering if you knew where you saw the bowling pin and ball pattern....ive looked everywhere! thanks so much!
