My own, original cable purse! *pattern added*

YAY! :clap I came up with this all on my own and if you can't tell, I am absurdly thrilled with myself! :lol After the pattern has been tested, I will post it, free of course. It's really nothing spectacular, but it's all mine!

 

Cable/Bobble Purse

 

Here it is! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll try to answer them as soon as I can.

 

Cable/Bobble Purse

Finished sized: 10"x8"

Materials: 2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (or comparable)

'K' 6.50MM hook

Yarn Needle

Purse handles

Material for lining 12"x18"

Sewing thread and needle

Please read through pattern before beginning

Pattern:

Ch 26

1. hdc in 3rd lp from hook

hdc across

ch 2 (counts as first hdc from now on)

turn work

2. hdc in next 2 st

FPDC in next 4 st

hdc in next 11 st

FPDC in next 4 st

hdc in last 3 st

ch 2, turn work

3. hdc in next 2 st

BPDC in next 4 (your previous rows FPDC)

hdc in next 11 st

BPDC in next 4 (previous rows FPDC)

hdc in last 3 st

ch 2, turn work

4. hdc in next 2

Skip first and second post dc's, FPDC into next 2, return to first skipped and FPDC in first

skipped then second skipped (crossover made)

hdc in next 5 st

hdc Bobble in next st

hdc in next 5 st

Skip first and second post dc's, FPDC into next 2, return to first skipped and FPDC in first

skipped then second skipped (crossover made)

hdc in next 3 st

ch 2, turn work

5. Repeat row 3 Now and EVERY "WRONGSIDE" ROW

6. hdc in next 2 st

FPDC in next 4

hdc in next st

hdc bobble in next st

hdc in next 7 st

hdc bobble in next st

hdc in next st

FPDC in next 4

hdc in last 3 st

ch 2, turn work

Repeat rows in this order:

3, 4, 3, 6, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3 (this completes side 1 and the bottom of the bag)

DO NOT FINISH OFF! THIS IS MADE IN ONE PIECE

Repeat these rows in this order for side 2:

4, 3, 6, 3, 4, 3, 6, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1

Bind off, leaving tail to weave in end.

Fold purse in half with right sides facing and using yarn needle, sew edges together. If you prefer,

you may also slip stitch edges with crochet hook.

Sew in lining and attach handles.

Please note: My hdc bobbles are actually hdc 'popcorns' hdc 5 times in st indicated, remove

hook from loop and insert hook into first hdc in that st. Pick up your loop and draw through st. ch

1 to secure popcorn.

Yes, they are cables. But believe me, if I can do them ANYONE can do them! LOL

I love your cables. So if you can do them, I can. I've never tried. This may be just the time to learn.

 

I have some beautiful Chenille Thick and Quick in Seaspray, a light sea foam green. I can just see it done in those cables.
