From the clip I saw on the news it looked like a beach towel. From the pic you posted it definately looks knitted.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I've thought it was crocheted right from the beginning from the footage I've seen, although I have to agree that in that photo it looks more like it's knitted. I heard someone on TV specifically say that they thought it was crocheted... although I somehow doubt that comedy commentator Mo Rocca is an expert on the subject.

Thanx for the link, Carol. I have a dear friend getting married in a few months and I plan on making her wedding accessories along with a white wedding ring afghan and I think this would be a perfect gift for her as a joke for the bachorlette party!!!!
