My first purse!

Here's my first purse.

 

 

 

 

It's done with size 18 nylon cording.

I added my own touches - I added the metal beads and a reverse sc (skipping a stitch to create a rope effect) across the top and on the handles.

 

I had some trouble with the lining, but when I finally got it done, I realized that I forgot to put the magnetic closure and the inside pocket!

 

I'm not exactly a whiz at the sewing machine! I couldn't figure out how to machine sew it into the purse - the fringe kept getting in the way! So I wound up hand-sewing it into place.

 

I'm going to use it like this for now, and if I decide I want to add the closure and the side pocket, I'll take it out of the purse and then sew it back in.

 

I really loved the pattern - it was easy to follow!

Great purse! I read that a lot of people like to hand sew it to the finished purse, but if they can machine sew it together and machine sew pockets.

Wow!! That is a really cool looking purse!! When I line my purses, I hand sew. For me, it's easier than fighting with my sewing machine. (Would you believe I still have about 7 "unfinished" FBB's--all waiting to be lined) !!
