Peace Shawl

I made this Peace symbol shawl using #3 black Royale thread.

It was hard to make the stitches show up on camera.

I tried laying it down on the deck with a white plastic bag underneath so it would show up. (The images are clickable to enlarge).

I was going to add fringe or maybe some hanging beads around the trim but then I thought, nah. It speaks for itself. (I don't know about you-all, but every time I add fringe to things, I am always snagging it!)

Here I tried hanging it across the doorway to see if that would make it show up better.

I really like this. I used a filet crochet pattern of a peace symbol I found on a website, then just made a grid pattern which you simply lose one grid as you work your way across the edges making the triangle shape.

Here's the pattern for the Peace sign,

It's from this cool site with lots of filet patterns.

You make the fileted peace square, (or rectangle) first.

Then, add the triangle shapes to the bottom, and two sides. (Just more chain two double crochet chain two etc.) I also added a small trim to the top to center the peace sign more across the shoulders.

It really doesn't take long to ,make either.

I think a red, white and blue one would look cool. :)
