I finished the second January square. Now I have some non-SOTM stuff to work on before tackling the February squares.

I finished the four heart square. I used RH Cherry Red and it came out really well. I enlarged it to 14 inches, continuing in pattern, and used it for a snuggle that I dropped off yesterday. I said I wasn't into hearts, but I think I will make another in yellow to use in the afghan I putting together from these (and other) blocks.

 

I'm skipping the pineapple block. I started it this morning, but it looked like it was going to get too large to go with my others, so I frogged it, since with the pattern ending at the very edge, there is no way to adjust it. I also feel like I've already earned my Pineapple Badge. I did an afghan a year or so ago with 12" pineapple squares. It's not this pattern, but very similar. If I can find the photo, I'll post it. I liked the way it looked with all the pineapples sewn together.

Twinklesnow - I hope you're better. Gall bladder attacks are some really serious pain. One the best things I ever did for myself was having the wretched thing out!

Ugh , the yo-yo square, I just made about 100 yo-yos yesterday to use in a different patterned square ( 200 to go) so I will NOT be doing this one:eek

 

but will replace it with this 16 circles square

once you get the hang of it these go much faster( at least for me ) with many less ends to weave -- border can be added to make a 12 inch square:hook

Okay, here are my February squares. Yeah, I finished them in March. Anyway, ended up doing the last round of the hearts square in dc because it would've come out small otherwise.

I've finished the yoyo square for this month, and expect to get the next square in the next couple of weeks.
