I found crochetville while searching for a way to contact Dot. I found the bobble beauty hat on her website and have a couple for myself. I was going to an arts and crafts fair and made a couple to take with me. The response was so good that I wanted to make them available through my website. Do you know how I can gain permission to do that? And would I have to get the permission for individual patterns if I wanted to add more in the future? Her pattern was so well written and easy to follow. Thanks!

Dot does not want items made from her patterns to be sold online. Here is the information that she had on her website about each pattern, and that is on each pattern we have posted here at Crochetville:

This pattern is intended for personal use only. You may do what you want with the items you make, as long as you give Dot credit as the designer, with the following restrictions: you may not sell your items online and you may not sell to retail or wholesale stores or businesses. You are welcome to direct people to this pattern by posting a link to it. This pattern may not be posted on any other site or distributed in any other manner.

I was looking for a hat to make for my 4 year old grandson because he's be buggin' me for one lately. While doing a Google search it pointed to the thread here at: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3848 from 2004. The problem is that the name of the pattern wasn't in the thread and the link to the pattern no longer works. :ohdear I did figure out how to get to the picture that Dot pointed to. I recognized the pattern that it was refering to. :clap

Fortunately for me I had copied many hat patterns from her original website. The name on her original pattern site was "Double Crossed Hat". The only thing is I didn't see it in the list of patterns that are posted here. Is there a reason that it isn't or is it just not there yet? :think

I LOVE Dot's hats!!!! :manyheart

I was looking for one of Dot's patterns recently and saw that her blogs had ceased to be, making me very worried! I'm glad to see that her beloved patterns are being archived here, and even more glad to see that Dot is still with us, just busy with her family. Cheers!

I too am looking for a hat pattern by Dot that is not on the list. Crazy or tilted shells or something like that. I just bought more yarn to finish up a hat that I made with this pattern and didn't do enough rows on a long time ago. It's cotton and it shrank up. It's zig zag shells hat, I looked at my hat and looked at the stole, and I think it's a match. I have made two of them. I made Lizzy the fourth poncho too.

If it's ok with Dot and ok with Amy, I just need the hook size now, for the hat to go with zig zag stole, It's not the same size I think as the stole.

Hi everyone,

I just printed the basketweave baby blanket by 'Dot' Matthews. Anxious to start it. Been looking for this pattern for a long time. Not sure how to go from place to place yet and do not understand much about forums. Will be back later to try again.

I have made several of the basketweave blankets by Dot. They all turned out beautifully and I have had many compliments and requests. I entered one made with Bernet Baby, in peach, at the county fair and won a blue ribbon. Dot's patterns are written so that they are easy to understand and follow. And it is so much fun to watch to pattern develop as your work progresses. This is one of my all time favorites. :yes

It is soo good to hear that Dot is well and I am thrilled to see her patterns here! There are a couple of her shawls I wanted to make for my mom and now I can. Thank you Dot and Crochetville for making these available. Dot is an amazing designer and I was heartbroke when nobody knew if she was ok. Happy Dance!!!

I keep getting compliments on my hat I made with a dot pattern I can not find. I used two different purples, a light and dark. People ask me for the pattern, but I cant find it. But I love her patterns and wish her well. I will just have to try another pattern by dot.

I assume this will link for you. I found the pattern on the first try and hope it's the one you seek for Dot's Ponytail Hat. :)

I am looking for Dot's Ponytail Hat. It's the best one I have used. I had it printed off but can not find it now. Will you be adding it to the list?

I was ven lucky enough to to "talk" a few short times with her online, but as I said seemed that suddenly i couldn't link up with her i hope so, I've missed keeping up with her work and blog
