Chocolate Easter Bear

Materials Needed:

Worsted weight yarn in brown colors.

G hook

Poly-fil

Scraps of yarn for embroidering face

1 - 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook (6)

2 - 2 sc in ea sc around (12)

3 - *sc in 1 sc, 2 in next sc* around (18)

4 - *sc in 2 sc, 2 in next sc* around (24)

5 - *sc in 3 sc, 2 in next sc* around (30)

6 - *sc in 4 sc, 2 in next sc* around (36)

7 - *sc in 5 sc, 2 in next sc* around (42)

8 - *sc in 6 sc, 2 in next sc* around (48)

9 - *sc in 7 sc, 2 in next sc* around (54)

Eyes Make 2. Chain 4.

1 - sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in end ch, continue along other side of ch, sc in 2 ch. Ch 1, turn. (7)

2 - sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in 1 sc, sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in 1 sc, sc in 2 sc. Ch 1, turn. (9)

3 - sc in 3 sc, 2 sc in 1 sc, sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in 1 sc, sc in 3 sc. Ch 1, turn. (11)

4 - sc evenly across ends of rows, sl to join. FO

 

Pupils Make 2. Chain 2.

1 - 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook (6) Sl st to join, FO.

 

Ears Make 2 – different colors. Chain 2

1-3 - Follow 1-4 from Head. (18)

4-8 - sc in each sc around. Sl st to join, FO.

Fold ear in half and sew closed.

 

Arms Make 2 – different colors. Chain 2

1-4 - See 1-4 from Head. (24)

5-6 - sc in each sc around

7 - *sc in 2 sc, dec next 2 sc* around (18)

8 - *sc in 1 sc, dec next 2 sc* around (12)

9-20 - sc in each sc around. Sl st to join, FO.

 

Legs Make 2 – different colors. Chain 2

1-5 - See 1-5 from Head. (30)

6-8 - sc in each sc around

9 - sc in 10 sc, *dec next 2 sc* 5 times, sc in 10 sc (25)

10 - sc in 5 sc, * sc in 1 sc, dec next 2 sc* 5times, sc in 5sc (20)

11 - *sc in 2 sc, dec next 2 sc* around (15)

12-25 - sc in each sc around. Sl st to join, FO.

 

Tail Wrap 1 strand of yarn around index (pointer) finger 20 times. Make into pom pom.

 

Assembly

Stuff head, body, muzzle, arms, and legs. Attach bottom, muzzle, arms, legs and tail to bunny. Attach pupils to eyes then eyes to head.

I'm gonna make one. LoopyCrochet... did you find the right yarn? I need to go diving in my stash to find some too. Okay.. where is my hook now? hmmmmm...... clingclingcling.... oh... there it is... knocked it on the floor. Now... yarn?

Yep! I got some scraps from my mom's birthday purse...she was 51 on the 6th! Thanks for asking! I'm like you...I always have to go search for my hooks.:rant

Thank you so much for your compliments. I'm glad you all enjoy it.

 

I was a little apprehensive about giving my son a stuffie...he's 10 and on the cusp of stuffed animals aren't cool, but he just LOVED it! :clap Sat for hours beating it up. :D So I have no fear that he enjoyed.
