dish cloth cal?

Recommended Posts

Why is it that everyone else has figured out how to make this spiral scrubbie, but I am STILL having problems with it!!! I am so frustrated!

I am new to crochet. My first two crochet dishcloths did not turn out right and I modified them into doll clothes. I tried this scrubbie ( http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spiral-scrubbie ) and I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Thanks for your help. I'll give it another try.

Join your last row to the first row. There's an equal number of stitches so they should line up almost exactly. At this point you have a tube that is a bit off kilter. Next run the thread back and forth through one edge going all the way from the First Row to the Last and then finally pull tight draw the edge together. You'll probably have a slight opening. Then do the same to the other edge from the First Row to the Last. Pass one of the threads through both openings and knot well. Push the ends into the interior of the scrunchie to hide.

As long as you have a slanted rectangle (not 90 degree corners) when you start joining everything together the spirals should form naturally. You just need to let it twist as you draw the ends together.

Hope this helps!

I have given up. I just can't figure out which end goes where.

I did post a tutorial for how to put these together. I don't know if it will be any better than the one you have been following (which is excellent) but it might spark something for you

BTW, I just saw this CAL (bumped :yay ) as I was finishing up a knitted cloth. I got those excellent patterns from TFOTGSM blog and love those. What a great cal. can't wait to try those pattern stitches.
