I'm not sure what "GUY STUFF" you are talking about.

Are afghans/blankets for ladies only? How about hats? Scarves?

Yes, I'm a guy - and I DO crochet guy stuff - have you seen my hat? That hat was crocheted by me. It wasn't the longest project I've done, by any means, but one of the most difficult.

I also crochet things for my wife, daughters, son, and grandkids. I've crocheted many things for my mother.

Are dress designers only women?

I live in Southern California, so scarves and sweaters aren't prevalent in my wardrobe.

I'm a guy and I love to crochet. I've never been one to go by other's definitions of what is "normal". I was taught crochet by my grandmother when I was about 10 years old. I am now 65 (66 next month) and, with more time on my hands I have found something that gives me pleasure.

I treasure this place because it is so welcoming and encouraging and I love to share my accomplishments, whether they are for guys or ladies.

HEY CROCHETDAD!!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE OFFENSE!!! - I LOVE YOUR STUFF AND EVERY OTHER GUY'S STUFF I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AGAINST GUYS WHO CROCHET - YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!

MY BROTHER KNEW HOW TO CROCHET ONCE TOO - HIS PATHS JUST WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

AND THANKS FOR SHARING THE LINK TO YOUR HAT - TOO, TOO COOL!!!

I JUST WISH WE SAW MORE OF THAT STUFF!

I UNDERSTAND ABOUT NO SCARVES AND SWEATERS - I LIVE IN AZ ...

USED TO LIVE IN MESA (drip, drip)!

I GUESS I DIDN'T SEE ALL YOUR STUFF IN YOUR ETSY SHOP! I LOOKED AT THE FIRST PAGE AND SAW ONLY LADIES THINGS ( AND BLESS YOUR HEARTS FOR DOING LADIES THINGS!!! GUYS OFTEN KNOW WHAT LOOKS BETTER ON US!) JUST HADN'T SEEN A WHOLE LOT OF GUY STUFF AND

I'M SURE IT'S JUST BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TIME TO LOOK THOROUGHLY!

AND AS FAR AS YOU HAVING MORE TIME ON YOUR HANDS AND USING

IT TO CROCHET - YOU ARE ONE VERY WISE MAN! I WATCHED MY GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDFATHER - IN LAWS NEXT DOOR TO US IN THEIR VERY OLD AGE (MUCH OLDER THAN YOU) AND MY GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS KEPT BUSY WITH ALL SORTS OF THINGS, GRANDPA JUST SAT

OUTSIDE IN HIS ROCKING CHAIR. GUESS WHO GOT SICK ALL THE TIME AND WHO LEFT THIS EARTH FIRST! YEP ... GRANDPA ... with nothing

to keep him busy.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING EVERYTHING WITH US ALL!!! I REALLY ADMIRE,

RESPECT AND APPRECIATE YOU AND ANY OTHER MAN WHO CROCHETS!

Peggy, sorry, I guess I was a little defensive. No excuses, but my MIL is in the hospital and probably won't be with us much longer, and that pressure probably affected my response.

Thanks for your kind words.

Peggy.........

Thanks for your kind words.

No problem - I've had very bad days on here when I should've

just locked myself in the bedroom instead.):eek

(Be glad you are a man ... there ARE benefits!!!)

But thanks for posting back - I sometimes

wonder if I should just quit all this. Stress in my life causes me to sound

very irritable when I really don't mean to be.

You and yours will be in our prayers! :hug

THANKS again for the

beautiful earring patterns!!!

I REALLY want to try this with bead accents. It always sounds so simple when I read about using beads with crochet, but I haven't gotten up the nerve to try it. This little project seems like the perfect one to start on beads.

Does anyone have any tips for a newbie to bead crochet? What size beads? I've figured out you have to string the beads before you start, but beyond that, I don't have a clue.

I've been too cheap to buy a book. :blush
