Rainbow cell phone holder

At Goodwill, (one of my favorite haunts, :lol , ) I saw this small crocheted cell phone sized bag. Naturally, I bought it and brought it home to figure out how to make it. This is , (for me anyway), the best way to learn how to do things. Some people are great with reading instructions and some learn better with a "hands-on" approach, (like me).

ANYWAY, here's a picture of the one I bought first...

And here is the inside opening. A simple velcro closure.

I pulled back one of the rings on the front to expose it so you could see it there. I used those small plastic rings to make the beginning circles of the granny squares. You don't really need them though. Just going around to make your own beginning circles would be just fine.

I lined it with some turquoise stretchy kind of scrap fabric that I have accumulated, (haven't we all? LOL!)

Here they are side by side.

I have no idea what thread I used. It was just a ball, (or do you say skein?) of a multi-colored thread I got at a garage sale a while ago. It's not a thin thread.

And here's just one more of the backs of both bags.

The straps are just a chain of thread in two rows.

The sides are just one long strip row after row of double crochet.

I'm wondering if whoever owned this first blue bag got rid of it because they are making cell phones even smaller now with nice clip-on pouches that attach to your belt loops. :lol

Well, it still would make a nice small bag for a little girl or something.
