Going for the Green - St Patrick is next... CAL

Recommended Posts

This is my very first CAL and also my first post! So be patient with me, please.:blush

If we use the term "green" then I have the perfect thing. I just started crocheting artificial bird/bunny nests for use in Wildlife Rehab. This is a really great stashbuster that works up quick!

I am taking the first ones made tomorrow for them to see and hopefully, they will be somthing useful for them.

I got the idea from Bev Q's patterns (http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/nest.html).

There are a couple of pic there and I will put some on my blog tomorrow.

here is a good place to begin if you want some St Pat's Ideas

I actually found it at the link Darski put up at the beginning of this CAL...lol. I had never tried my hand at filet before, but I really like it and it's great for someone who wants to feel like (and see) that they are making progress! :cheer It didn't really take me all that long either! Yay! Thanks for all the positive comments! I can't wait to see everyone's creations! :yay

i'll join in, im not actually doing st patty stuff but i have 4 skeins of lime green simply soft that i need to liquidate for the much needed storage space and just today decided i would use it to make a baby blanket/sweater/hat/booties/whatever else i have yarn for set. so i figure it isnt very st pattys but it is green!

I just found this link at CPC

http://members.aol.com/cillcrochets/shamrockph.html

I like the look of that.

I have to go and find a big ball of Green WW cotton fer shure.

I love this pattern! If you work it up to round #5 and omit #6 you'll have the perfect size for coasters which is what I made today!

I'd love to find a nice Shamrock filet pattern but have been unable as of yet. Any links anyone can share? I'd like to make some small square St Patty's Day things too... I'd tired of Shamrocks after the coasters! :devil

Using green and saving space and using yarn sounds great.

I started on a larger market/shopping bag and didn't care for the pattern so I changed it a bit (it wasn't well written:no). I might try another pattern for more.

I made about a dozen of these 4 leaf clovers. All I need to do now is get the pin backs on them and get them in the mail.

Those are cute and they would be quick to make. Would make a neat give-away on St. Patty's.

Thanks. They are super quick to make which is why I love them! lol

I'm mailing them out to family for the holiday. I might brind some in to the office too.

Cute shamrocks! Your family will love them. Careful about bringing them into the office... others will want you to make some for them... :hook

Debbi I don't have too much to worry about...there are only 5 of us total in the office! I could handle that!

Unless you get a co worker like me who wants several to give away (one year at Christmas I had some yarn angels I made up and one coworker wanted 15 of them... )

Sorry, in the midst of all my chaos that's going on at home and work and all my other endeavors..I finally finished my booties. I've been working on a million different colored booties so I finally made both of these!

Hi everyone,

I've been working on my table topper. The center square is done. I'm starting the sections that turn it into a circle today. I don't know if I'll really make the deadline (Jeanne's B-day is the 16th!) , but I plan to give it my best shot. Luckily, we're Irish enough to display this one long after St Patrick's Day. :clover

I was looking at e-pattern central and saw some very nice St Patrick projects. The patterns there aren't free but fairly inexpensive. I have the hat pattern - Jeanne's b-day gift last year. It was a nice pattern and they arrive in your inbox shortly after you pay.

I've bought a few and am very happy with all of them.

I'll try to take time out for a picture of the table topper later today.

I really liked the booties and the lizard is just too cute. Isn't crochetville a great place? We can all appreciate the time and effort and talent of others without even knowing one another. I love it!

Happy Crocheting,

Nancy
