I used a size 3 hook, not sure what size thread it was, as it doesnt have a size listed on it. But it isnt superfine, its Anchor brand, 10 gram, cotton, made in Great Britian. I hope that helps, I am sure someone on the group will be able to let us know what size that is.

Wow thanks everyone for your loverly replies. I really did enjoy making it and writing it up. I am thinking about making one in yarn and turning it into a scarf, I think that it would look loverly as a scarf.

I agree it would make a GREAT scarf !!! Hmmm, what about a dishcloth? I have some cotton tots lying around, I just might give it a try.
