Strawberries - my own design

This is my first ever all-out design. The strawberries were knitted as a whole first, then stuffed and stitched up but didnt quite look right. So I made up 6 various leaf shapes for each, all random patterns, then added to top. Much better effect. Finally decided to add the yellow thread. Was fun. Hangs very nicely.

Thank you Heather. Each one was an evolution and got better. I still need to make some improvements tho but overall Im happy with them.

Thanks a lot busy bee. Not bad for first attempt.

 

Lisalu - just measured them for you. The smaller strawberries are just over 5cm (2 inches) and the larger one is just over 7.5cm (3 inches) in length. The 2 custom leaves at top are about 4 inches across together. Overall the entire piece is just over 15cm (6 inches) long by about 13cm (5 inches) wide.

 

The leaves on top of each strawberry curl nicely when made so i stuffed them simply with the trails of the cast on/off edge underneath. Worked like a charm. :-)
