Kai's Scarf

I crocheted this scarf for my best friend's 6 y.o. daughter, who loves butterflies. I had this idea of blue sky, flowers, and butterflies flitting around.

 

The scarf was quickly worked up in HDCs, and then I sewed on the flowers and butterflies, which weren't quite as quick to crochet. Nothing was difficult, just time consuming, particularly the big purple flowers.

 

Because kids will be kids, the scarf is worked in easy-to-wash acrylic.

 

(As an aside, my friend Drew [see Drew's Beanie] fell in love with the big purple flower. He's addicted to Ribena, and called it a "Ribena flower" and asked me to make him one. I did, sewed a safety pin to the back, and he's decided to wear it when performing. Hee hee.)

Thanks! MT says Kai absolutely FLIPPED, which just made my day. It's scratchy though: not great acrylic, unfortch. Hopefully a soak in the machine with a ton of fabric softener will help.
