Blue Star Cloths

I've made two dishcloths that are star shaped. This one is actually wet in the picture b/c I forgot to take a picture of it before using it.

 

I got the pattern from here.

 

 

This second one is on my blog and I posted it in the starghan CAL, but I thought I'd include it here too with my other star cloth. I did a couple of rounds of Yarndiva's Starghan pattern to make this dishcloth for my mother.

They look great-are dishcloths used like sponges? Pardon my ignorance, but if I walked by & saw those I'd think they were hotpads; if used as sponges-what kind of yarn do you use?

yep, like sponges to wash your dirty dishes with. cotton is the prefered choice of material to make these with as it absorbs water well

i especially like the variegated one! i still couldn't actually use these, far to pretty to get all gross in the sink
