newbies 2nd ever doily.

I was given some vintage cotton and a hook that belonged to my grandmother, she passed away some years back and my aunt was cleaning out a cupboard when she came across some hooks and white cotton, she brought them to me over christmas and I had a go at a doily. My aunt liked it so much (and I guess it really ment something to her that I had used it) and she said my grandmother would have loved it too, she was a great crocheter and knitter....so I made this small one and framed it.

 

I know its not very round......(the pins made little ripples in the edges) but it was flat! and I had to make the pattern up myself!

 

its on its way to aunt as a suprise gift.....I posted it today.

Made that up yourself? Wow. That is great. Love it in a frame! I haven't done that yet and yours looks great. What a great memorial for your grandmother! This will definately get passed down (I'd take it).
