Ok, I broke down and bought one of those Japanese books from ebay. I paid wayyyyyy to much for it, I think like $25.00 or so. But I think it is well worth it. I made one scrubber from it and I am in love with this book. once you get the symbols down they are super easy to follow. here are a few links to the cuteness...... I used peaches and cream kitchen dishcloth yarn. I think this little guy is too cute to use on your dishes or even your body!

  • 2 weeks later...

I just had my Aunt pick up this book for me. I found out about it from this website: http://mkcarroll.typepad.com/mk_carroll/2006/06/more_japanese_c.html

Supposedly they are only $8 there and they ship! My Aunt lives in Hawaii and works right near the store so I asked her to see if they had the book. They said the book was very popular and that she had picked up the last one. I'm sure they'd get more in though. My Aunt is also going to bring it to work and have one of her assistants (who is from Japan) look at it for me and hopefully translate some of it.

I'm so excited to try out these patterns! Maybe if a few of us get it we can help each other decipher the patterns?

I saw your post and went to the mall to get my copy of the book for $3.31, they had 10% off the price too. The actual price of that book in yen is 420 (114 yen to a dollar) approx $3.68! Yikes! This is one thing I'll miss when we fly off to California next month! Japanese are so good at "cute" stuff.

This is so cute! Is the book really hard to follow since it's in another language? I'd love to make some of these.

Thank you so much for sharing!
