CORD hot pad

I made this hot pad out of cord I had around the house. It was quite difficult bending and crocheting the cord, but I think it was worth it! It is six leaves crocheted separately and then sewn together.

 

 

I was inspired to make this after reading Simple Crochet by Erika Knight: she includes patterns in her book for string table runners and cord baskets!

Gee, I like that very much. I have the same book and was impressed with the items made of leather cord. I'll have to give one of those leather pillows a try sometime, although I'm sure the leather will be expensive.
