Rooster

I made this for a friend of mine for her birthday, she has chickens so I always feel the need to incorporate something with chickens or rooster in it for her.  I made her 6 crochet topped towels last year, all with chickens and roosters (which she loved) , so I had to think of something different.       (sorry for the glare)

 Thank you magiccrochetfan, it's in an 8"x10" frame, the rooster is 5 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" wide, I used size 10 thread and a size 10 crochet hook. I wrapped the mat that came with the frame with some card stock paper, the pattern on the paper reminded me of chicken wire. I found the pattern here http://www.karensvariety.com/NEWSLETTER/Patterns/Rooster.htm  It was a little confusing and some errors in it,  I did quite a bit of frogging but finally got it!

I didn't notice the pattern on the mat at first, that's a nice touch.  I'm sure your friend will love it.

Vintage patterns are not very clear so I am glad you figured it out. I bet she will really love her gift this year also.
