Is it cheating if I use a glue gun??

 

I am making these small owl ornaments, and I sewed the eyes, beak, and wings on the first one, but man!!! my fingers were hurting!

They are about 2-3 inches tall.

 

I made three ornaments so far, and I glued the eyes and wings on--it was much easier, but I feel like I am cheating?

does any one else do this, or feel like this??

If its not something that will be washed; use the glue gun. I use mine all the time for pins, ornaments, party favors, wreaths, door decorations- just not on clothing or afghans.

I'm all for finding an easier way to do something. So if you found it by using a glue gun then go for it - nothing to feel guilty about.

Those are super cute! I think you are a genius for using a glue gun instead of sewing them. If they aren't going to be worn and washed a ton then why not use glue?

Another vote for gluing on for an ornament that won't be washed or pulled apart by youngsters. The only thing I'd wonder about is if it would yellow or deteriorate with age, or have adverse reactions to the things being glued. I've had that happen with other glued projects (not crochet) BUT I don't have any hot glue experience.

Who would you be cheating? They are still created by hand - at one time the hand held a hook and then it held a glue gun - call it mixed media

I made these ornaments for a friend that collects owls, and now my daughter want some, my mom wants some, soo... I am going with the glue gun!

by the time I weave in all the ends, my fingers do not want to sew.
