Mom's Purse

Hey all!

 

I've kinda been lurking in the shadows lately. Been rather crazy with work in recent months, but I'm still stitching!

 

Here's the Mother's Day gift to my mom--my first crocheted purse!

 

 

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though it took WAY longer than it should have. (would have been wise to use a pattern...but I can't really read them ) It's predominantly 5-tr shells, gradating to 4-tr shells at the top for a slight tapering effect. The inside is not lined, but it does have two inner pockets for cell phone and wallet. Oh yeah, and I managed a zipper in there too. The strap is just chain that I picked up in the jewelry department in a craft store (pretty sturdy) and it's attached to the purse via BIG lobster clasps and a pair of grommets.

 

All in all, not bad for a first shot. I learned a lot of things that I will definitely apply in future projects.
