Some good clean fun?! [Archive 1]

Recommended Posts

I hate to rain on the Christmas parade, but most of my Christmas shopping is done. I have things hidden away in my closet. I need to get DD some art supplies and stuff for her stocking, but the big stuff is done. And hubby is completely done! I just ordered his last present yesterday. He wanted these blue sweat pants from Lands End that perfectly match Met blue.

Anyhoo, dinner is on the grill and DD is at her friend's house. I never did any cleaning today. I will have to do it tomorrow after I have my phone conference. We are going to see a movie tonight since DD is not home. OMG - an adult night out!

Talk to you all tomorrow!

Well, it was a busy cleaning day here today. My closet is purged- hasn't looked this good since I moved here! I made 2 trips to Goodwill today- And now I am sitting watching the Yankees- winning 1-0.

Glad you had fun at the circus Shannon! And yay to Janna for going on the potty

Colleen- I know how men are when it comes to fixing things. My DH is sooo stubborn- he really is not a handyman, but thinks he is...Hope you get to go out to dinner tonight.

LeaAnne- I was having wierd things with my internet last night- I thought I lost connection, but then all of a sudden it was back on--it was really strange.

I totally understand what you mean about making a mess to clean up- that is exactly what my room looked like today..a real mess. But now it is so clean- along with closet!

Vicki- have fun at the movies- enjoy adult time.

Mary- hope you had a good day- any more detective insights found out today?

Beth- Thinking about you and hope you can join us at our next chat.

Stacy- Did you end up baking anything yummy today? It's nice that you and DH were on the same page about not going anywhere.

I have to go to Philly tomorrow afternoon- have to help dd move. I am going in the afternoon around 3- her BF is going to come with me, but he works till 3. We are going to do as much as we can and then my youngest DD and her DH are going to help her on Monday- It's a long story- but suffice to say- it's been a little stressful for me, plus getting my house ready, plus DH having a cardiac cath Friday.

Glad I have you guys to vent to. :hug

Have a good night everyone!

Joanne - here's a big :hug... 'cause you need one! Your life is certainly not dull for a moment. You are a good mom! tell DH I will be praying for him on Friday. Cariac Cath's are scary. I hope he only needs a stent.

Stacy - funny you should mention being stumped on dinner ideas. I spent quite a bit of time today looking for new ideas... nothing sounded good, though. I think meal planning is a tough job, even harder than keeping a clean house:lol We should start sharing our favorite meals, 1 each a week, and we'd have the whole week done!

Tomorrow we are having shrimp scampi with sauteed asparagus on the side... YUMMY! I also made a chocolate cream pie for desert!

p.s. what are monster cookies?

Vicki - A night out?! what is that???:rofl I hope you and DH have a fun date! :wink

Colleen - Poor DH! I hope you got to go our to dinner tonight. He earned it!

Mary - Any new scoop? Here's a big :hug for you, too. And one to DH from me? I hope today was good for you both.

Shannon - Sorry you are all wore out... I hope you are getting lots of rest! Miss you!:hug

:hi, Beth! Happy Weekend! How was DS's birthday? What flavor of cake did you get to have? We are excited for our next birthday in the house... Krissy is 10 on Tuesday! That only leaves me one in single digits:(. Our cake will be chocolate with chocolate frosting...:yay

:waving Jenn and Scooby!

Hope you all have a great night... I am off to surf the web for yummy recipes!

Hey ladies!

Vicki, enjoy your night out! Good for you on your Christmas shopping. Last year I was finished by the first week of November and it was fabulous! I am hoping to do the same this year but we will see. I haven't even started yet. :lol

Joanne, good luck with everything you have to do! I will be praying for your dh on Friday. :hug

Leanne, how is Krissy feeling? What kind of party does a 10-year old have these days? The chocolate cake with chocolate frosting sounds yummy! :drool

We are babysitting my niece while BIL and SIL are at a concert. She is actually being very well-behaved. The other kids, however...:angry the 4 y/o's just will not get along. We keep trying to separate them but Roomie doesn't want to deal with it, so hers keeps bothering ours. :sigh I brought all of ours outside and let them run around, just to get away. We are going to have pizza for dinner, then dh's uncle and cousins are coming over to put up the hammock and have ice cream with the girls.

I better get going and get some stuff cleaned up before I have to get the pizza. Have a great night!

I'm going to try this again.

Hello!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening! I know Joanne and Vicki are, since their Yankees won! (sorry LeaAnne)

Joanne- Good luck to DH on Friday. He will be in my prayers. WTG on getting so much cleaned out today!! Does it feel good? I wouldn't know!:lol

Vicki- What movie are you going to see? Enjoy your big kids night out!

LeaAnne- I hope Krissy is feeling better! Nothin' like a birthday to make the sniffles go away! Double digits huh? They grow up so fast!

Colleen- Did you get to go out to eat tonight? How is DH/plumber doing? My DH is the same way, except he knows very well that he's not good at that stuff, but tries it anyway! And it usually works out pretty well....after the 3rd or 4th try. Just kidding!

Beth- How was DS's birthday? Did DD decorate the cake for you?

Mary- I hope you are feeling better about everything today. I hate that you were put in that situation. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Everything happens for a reason. :hugs to you and DH.

Stacy- Pizza and ice cream sounds like fun! Enjoy your night with all your guests!

I'm so sorry if I'm forgetting someone. My brain is still not functioning quite right. I do have a story for you though. I had my mom's RR on DD's bed, and when I went in there DD was trying to smooth it out. So she says to me, "You lay down watch movie. I cro-hay." (crochet):rofl I asked her if she knew how to crochet, and she said, "Mmm-hmmm. What?" I think she was trying to ask me how. So I'm going to give her some scraps and a hook tomorrow and see what she does with it. She talks about it a lot. In fact, when we were in NO in May, she told her cousin that I was "cro-haying". She said it like she was so proud that she knew what it was, and impressed that her mommy does it. :manyheart

My parents' 35th anniversary is Monday, and I have no idea what to get them. That is such a huge accomplishment, and I want to let them know that I think so. Any suggestions?

Well, I think I'll go cro-hay for a bit and then go to sleep! I'll talk to you all tomorrow. Love ya!:manyheart

Shannon - That Cro-hay story is so cute. She is such a cutie.

Stacy - Sounds like you had a great at-home day.

LeaAnne - Dinner sounds delish! I am horrible at meal planning and not such a great cook. I would love some ideas!

Vicki - I hope you enjoyed your night out!

Joanne - WTG getting that room cleaned out :clap

Mary - I hope you had a great day. How are those sweaters coming together?

Beth - How is your family doing this weekend?

We didn't end up going out to dinner (I didn't really push for it). We made it to 5:00 mass and then I made chicken nuggets, fries and salad. I don't think LeaAnne will be putting that one on her list of ideas :rofl

DH was not able to find another tap he likes (it seems "they don't make things like they used to"). My DH is very handy and has done almost all of the work in our house. He knew what he was doing, but physically to install a tap in a 24 inch cabinet is too much with his back.

After supper DD decided to get out this little photo album she has of pics of her as a baby. She sees a pic of she and DH and I and says, "Mommy, you looked so much younger then". :( Gee, thanks.

Have a good night! I'm off to snooze-ville.

Good morning-

Colleen- you are lucky to have a handyman DH! And I LOL about the "they don't make things like they used to". Hopefully you'll have a new tap soon.

Beth- hope DS had a fabulous birthday

Shannon- did you get some cro-haying done last night. I'm curious to see how DD does when you give her the hook and some yarn!

Sorry- no ideas for the 35th- but that is a milestone and one to be celebrated!! Congratulations to Honey and Big Bob

LeaAnne- Happy Birthday Tuesday to Krissy!!

Vicki- hope you had a nice night out. Wasn't it great that theeeeee Yankees won!!!

Stacy- You seem like you had your hands full yesterday. Pizza and Ice Cream...yummy!

Mary- hope you had a good day

Well, it is raining here today ...hoping it stops later on when I have to go to Philly- it would make it so much easier not to have to help move in the rain. I switched cars with my youngest DH last night since she has an SUV.

Gotta go do some more decluttering and the dryer just finished.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone

:hi everybody! I'm sorry I haven't been communicating well. I'm kind of depressed and stressed, and I don't handle it well. Let's see... my kids are growing up too quickly (and since they are 18 months apart, all at the same time, too!), my dh is going away for 3 weeks at the beginning of October:cry, my dryer died, again, I'm working a lot more than the 10 hours a month I signed up for, and I can't get over this sinus/cough thing -- I'm thinking it's allergies, since it comes and goes.

You asked about the cake -- it was gluten free devils food, which my dd decorated with REAL buttercream. She put a picture of my ds's favorite video game character on the top, and a manly border -- it turned out very well. It was quite good.

Joanne, good luck moving, and getting your house in show condition. You are such a good mom! I love hearing how your daughters get along.

Colleen, good luck with the faucet. I hope your dh didn't injure his back working under the sink. I like the sound of chicken nuggets, fries, and salad for dinner! I'd put that on my list!

Shannon - definitely show your little one how to crochet!!! She sounds so darling, so sweet. What a great way to spend quality time together. Congratulations to your parents for 35 years!!! Wow. You are making me feel old. My parents are at over 50. I crocheted two matching afghans for their anniversary. I am so bad at gift ideas. Let us know what you end up getting them, OK?

Stacy, how old was the child you babysat? I'm sorry your house is experiencing 4-year-old issues. I hope things work out eventually. :hug It's good you have a nice yard to hang out in. The pizza and ice cream sounds YUMMY!

LeaAnne, Happy Birthday to Krissy!!! Double-digits! How exciting. My twins turn 15 1/2 on Tuesday. They get to apply for their learner's permits. :eek:faint I'm TOO YOUNG for this!!!

Vicki, congrats on finishing the Christmas shopping! You go, girl! That's awesome. I hope you enjoyed your night out. What's that like? I won't go to movies any more. The last two times we went were absolutely horrd -- first, the DH took me to see "Dumb and Dumber." I can't believe we wasted money to see that stupidity. The next time, I can't remember the movie, but some lady came late, sat beside me, pulled out her cell phone, and gave a play-by-play to whomever she was talking to. Grrrrrrrr. So I don't go to movies. I wait until they come out on DVD, and watch them at home.

Mary, I hope you clear your name without too much trouble. You know we are here for you -- if you ever need to vent about anything. That's what friends are for, and we aren't just friends, we are BESTIES!!!:hug I hope your life is stress free now.

Jenn and Scooby, :hi. Hope you are well.

Oh, we eat a lot of comfort food here -- I'm planning on having homemade pizza, chili, and salisbury steak this week, plus london broil, chicken, and whatever is on sale.

Hey girls! I wanted to stop in and say hi. I need to be quick. I have a conference about my paper. We went to go see The Informant last night. Don't waste your money. I thought it was stupid and I had no sympathy for the main character. He was a total idiot. Otherwise, we had a very nice adult night out. We bbqed chicken. I love when hubby bbq's. He does it so well.:lol

I must run, but I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning girls!

DD and I are about to get packed up and go to Honey and BigBob's house. They're staying at the casino hotel tonight for their anniversary. Even as tired as I was last night, I got a bad case of one-more-round-itis. I am so scared that I'm not going to finish this in time. I'm on round 32 of 50, and Mom's birthday is October 9.:eek:eek:eek

Beth- :hugs to you! You have a lot to be stressed about! Take it one day at a time and we are all here for you if/when you need us. One question: Are you going to bury your dryer in the backyard?

Vicki- Sorry you didn't like the movie. But I'm glad you had a good time anyway, and got some yummy bbq!

Joanne- Good luck moving DD today! I hope it doesn't rain on you. Be careful!

Colleen- Out of the mouths of babes, eh? I'm really looking forward to the day when DD says things like that to me.:sigh:ohdear That's great that DH is so handy around the house. He didn't hurt his back trying to put the new tap in, did he?

I can't believe you all plan your meals for the week! A lot of times DH just wants a sandwich, or nothing at all, so I don't really plan. If I call him at work to see what he wants for dinner, he says, "I don't know, that's too far away." :tryme Drives me crazy! It was fine when I just had to feed myself, but not now with DD.

I better go now. We need to get baths and I have a few things to do around here before we leave. I'll be back later though. Have a great Sunday! Oh, and GO SAINTS!!

Shannon, There isn't a smiley for "Laugh so hard I spit soda all over the screen." We need to make one. No, I'm not going to bury my dryer. I am going to repair it. I fixed this problem once before, so it's not a big deal, but the part is rather expensive (about $80) and it takes a few days to get it in. That's a big deal, since it seems to want to rain here now, and I do laundry for a family of 5 BIG people -- the shortest is about 5'8". Thank you. I really needed the laugh!

Keep on going on the RR. You can always make it a bit smaller than the pattern calls for -- when you run out of time, just do a round or two of sc. Voila, a custom-sized RR for your custom-sized mom.

I plan meals for a week to make grocery shopping easier, meal preparation easier, and so my kids have a plan, since they each cook one night a week. If your dh came home and there was something cooking already, would he eat it without question, or would he complain that it isn't what he wants? My dh's favorite meal (when asked what he wants) is "I don't know, what are you having?" :tryme Does anybody have a recipe for that?

:hugThank you! I didn't realize just how much I needed a friend. :day

Vicki - how was the conference? Thanks for the input on the movie. I was thinking about seeing that one.

Beth - It sounds like you are the one that needs the :hugs today. :hug:hug:hug Here's a few! I'm glad Shannon made you laugh. We are hear to listen anytime!

Shannon - My DH does exactly the same thing. He can't make a suggestion for supper before it is actually supper time. When I plan meals I just make something and he has to eat it. :lol

Stacy - My yarn strike is going great! I am kind of excited about the challenge of making things from my stash/scraps. I am trying not to buy anything non-essential (not just yarn). Once every few months I focus on using everything up in the "pantry" (I don't actually have a pantry:lol) and the freezer too, which is great for the grocery bill.

Vicki - Good for you having your Christmas shopping done. I typically start around this time of year, but I think this year I will wait until after our trip. Gift buying has always been a big stress in my life, but it was one of my 2009 new years resolutions to not let it stress me out and I've done well with birthday gifts this year. Hopefully I can keep it up through Christmas and focus on the reason for the season.

We have a new kitchen tap :yay (that was an essential:lol). We went to the store this morning and found one that DH thought was made well enough and that had the sprayer function that I wanted. We are both happy :D. DH installed it this afternoon, so I don't have to truck water from the bathtub tap to the kitchen sink with a pitcher today :clap.

We just got back from a walk around the block and now I'm going to give my kitchen sink a good cleaning and make some supper. It's mac and beef casserole tonight at our house (macaroni, ground beef and tomato soup). By the way, DH and I have agreed to give up pop together and we are doing well. :yay I am missing it:blush, but we're doing well. Small steps toward being healthier.

Just to expand on LeaAnne's suggestion that we share meal ideas, what if we shared what we are having for one week (before or after the fact for us planners and non-planners) and maybe share one other favourite? :shrug That would be fun and probably a great source of ideas.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

HI to all and happy Sunday Evening. My phone conference went well this morning. I have a few things to do this week for my paper, but the conference also helped me to focus a little bit. Instead of looking at the whole thing, I just need to focus on a couple of things.

I did get the laundry done today and I washed the towels too. I vacuumed and I cleaned the dust off the ceiling fan. I turned off the a/c for a couple of days and opened the windows and the dust was flying! I forgot about dusting the ceiling fan!

I don't exactly plan my meals per week. I just buy what I need on a bi-weekly basis and that is what I have to cook with. Tonight was chicken enchilada casserole. DD loves that and it is an easy fix. I got the recipe out of a magazine and it seems to be a favorite here.

It was a good NY sports day! All teams won and the Yankees are American League East Champs! The Jets are 3-0 and the Giants and Mets also won.

Colleen - I hate when my hubby doesn't know what he wants for dinner. Most nights I just take something out from the freezer and that is what I make.

Beth - I am glad you saw what I wrote about the movie. I really didn't like it.

Shannon - The Saints won! YAY Saints!

LeaAnne, Stacy, Jennifer, Mary, and Joanne - I hope you all had a great day!

I will talk to you all later! Have a great night!

Vicki

Hi Ladies

Today was not a good day.:( The president from the hall (man who is giving us a hard time ) decided to tell the people who rented the hall yesterday that they didn't need to put the tables and chairs away.:thair I called the people and asked why they didn't do this and they said president said we didn't have to. I said thankyou and hung up. 1/2 hour later they showed up at the hall and were putting the table and chairs away.

Dh took me home and said to me relax He would take care of the hall. We only have 3 more days to go and Iam about ready to blow my top.:rant I know if I do Iam lowering myself to their level and I don't want to do that. As for my detective work...... I have one more person to speak to and that will be tomorrow. Then Iam going to write everything up and hand deliver to certain people. Iam at the point that I want to see the president thrown out of the club.:tryme

Iam sorry for going on like this but I just had to let it out. My dear MIL let me cry on her shoulder today and my MOM wants to do things to the president that I can not write here.:lol

I will be here tomorrow night to see how LeaAnne made out with her problem and to fill you in more on mine if you don't mind listening.

I love you all

You are the best

Hi all,

Just to let you know it was a long day- I didn't get to watch the yankees or the Giants, but am glad they both won- and the Yanks are AL East Champs!!!

We made one trip with stuff she doesn't need to live and are storing it at DD's house- she has lots of storage space in her crawl space. DD is moving on Tuesday- she couldn't move in till then due to the religious holiday and the people she is moving in with celebrate. So, we'll see what Tuesday brings. SIL is off on Tuesday's- and her BF is taking off. I may take off also-

I don't have the energy to respond to all- but I enjoyed reading all the posts. Beth- sorry you're stressed (i can relate) so here are some:hug. Mary- you can vent to us anytime- that's why we are friends here

Well, I need to catch some shut-eye- got work tomorrow!!

Have a good night and a Happy Monday. :hug:hug:hug:hug

Beth, :hug:hug:hug for you, too! I'm sorry you are so stressed. I hope you can get your dryer fixed without spending too much. I thought of you when I made the cookies the other day- they were gluten-free. I didn't like them so much the first day, but after they "set up" overnight, they were pretty tasty and moist. :D Here is the link: Monster Cookies

Colleen, :clap for compromising on a new tap! I'm happy to hear that you are doing well on your buying strike. I like your idea of sharing a weekly menu. :D

Joanne, good luck with the move on Tuesday!

Shannon, good luck getting that rr finished. Have fun at Honey and big bob's tonight. Are you staying with Sister? Congratulations to them- 35 is a big number! :manyheart

Everyone else- I hope you had a great weekend! Leanne, I hope you can get your situation taken care of soon, too! :hug

I am tired. I think I am catching Roomie's cold. This morning I took Roomie's kids to meet with their dad at the playground for an hour. When I came home, dh and I went with BIL and SIL to Olive Garden. It was yummy but after we came home, I fell asleep with middle dd.

Well I am gonna get moving and go back to bed. The girls are off school tomorrow and I really, really have to get my license. I hope I don't look too out of it for my picture!

Vicki- It was a GREAT day for the NY teams!!!! Thanks for the head's up on the movie.

Shannon-Enjoy your time with Honey, Big Bob and sister. Did Janna get any cro-haying done?

The Yankees declined to celebrate last week when they became the Major Leagues' first team to clinch a postseason berth, pointing to the reality that their main goal was still out there and that there would be a more appropriate occasion to spray the bubbly.

That set up a three-game weekend series against the Red Sox in which the Yankees could take care of their own business, with the added bonus of forcing the AL's likely Wild Card entry to watch.

You gotta love NY!

Hi Ladies

I can't wait til Wed. gets here. I got a whole 4 hours sleep last night. My stomach is sooooooooooo upset. I just want to be done with all this mess.:angry

I talked to the last group I needed to this morning. She said she has been trying to phone me and the phone is either busy or they is no answer. I told her I have an answering machine that is always on and I have call display and her # was not on my phone.

So I have all my evidence and now I just have to write it all up and make copies.

I will be back later to see how LeaAnne made out and maybe she can give me some pointers.

Thanks again

Mary, :hug Feel free to vent to us any time. I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope things work out for you.

Vicki, I'm glad the baseball season is winding up so exciting for you. The Cubbies lose one more, and they're out. My poor DH. He needs to find a team that actually WINS! I think that's why he started cheering on my college alma mater -- Go VA Tech! -- in football.

Joanne, moving all weekend, then working during the week -- can you syphon off some of your energy and send it my way? I'm so impressed with all you do.

Stacy, thanks so much for the recipe! How sweet of you to think of me!!! I feel spoiled. I'm sorry you are coming down with a cold. Don't forget your vitamin C! I hope you bounce back from it quickly. Let us know if you get your license renewed!

Colleen, I'm so glad you got your new tap! I would hate to be without water in the kitchen. It sounds like you are making great steps towards being healthier. :cheer

My official menu plan for the week: I always plan 9 meals -- two for Saturday and two for Sunday.

Chili with cheese, crackers or tortilla chips, and sour cream

Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and onion gravy and green peas

oven roasted chicken, probably with rice and some vegetable (twice.)

pizza night - Friday. Every Friday. I do not like pizza, but it makes DH happy.

London broil with rice and some vegie.

Pork chops, potatoes, and vegie

Chuck roast with potatoes and carrots and onions.

Spaghetti

I ordered the part for my dryer. It should be here tomorrow!!! HOORAY!!! I couldn't sleep again last night, so this morning I made the cookies for an on-going bake sale at the ballet studio, and (gasp) cleaned up afterwards. My dd and I did our volunteering with the adoptable cats (and got to play with a ferret!) We washed the sheets, and have them hanging on our solar-powered laundry drying apparatus. I picked up some things from the store for my dh's trip. The kids and I finished school for the day. Now I'm going to :crocheting. I go to work at 4:15, leaving my dh to taxi 2 kids to their activities, order a new team swimsuit for my ds, and attend a parent meeting with the same swim team. I will probably never know what's going on.... Oh well.

Keep your :xfin for my twins tomorrow -- they test for their learners permits. :eek How did my babies get old enough for this???

:hug to everybody!

Hi, and good morning, everyone!

First, some extra hugs:

:hug:hugMary, to give you strength and peace whilst you deal with not-nice people... you should remind them of the Golden Rule, especially since you do all live in God's country... just remember to keep breathing... and exhale out the stress. I hope you get justice soon. It's like Vicki said, "what comes around, goes around":yes So true.

And if all else fails, tell them your sister from the south is on her way! :tryme

:hug:hugBeth, to give you peace. Laundry stress is the worst! Life passes us by too quick, and seeing your kids grow up too fast is a sure sign. Take a minute to count the many ways you are blessed, and Live the moment! I hope you get some quality time with DH before he goes away, and save your big chores for that time. Believe me, it really helps to keep your mind busy, too pass the time more quickly. One thing I try to do when DH is away is to have each child plan a special meal or activity that we normally wouldn't enjoy.

:ty for sharing your menu with us... it all sounds so good! We are having leftovers tonight, and stuffed chicken tomorrow night with mashed taters and the fixin's... Krissy's favorite on her special day! I don't have a clue for the rest of the week yet.

I hope you are feeling much better soon....And :clover for the learner's permits tomorrow! :hug

:hug:hugStacy, for some quiet time. It sounds like roomie's dk's are a lot to handle. I hope you find some time to share something special with just "your own"... and that roomie and her children get to learn a little from you and yours. I think of you often, and hope that your situation is improved soon! ...and :ty for the monster cookies recipe...sounds yummalicious!

:hug:hugJoanne, for ENERGY! Wow, you never cease to amaze me with all that you do, and the fact that you are ALWAYS there for your girls... what a blessing that you all have each other. I continue to pray for DH for Friday, and am sending :hug:hugto him, too. You are all certainly in one of those :eek:eek spike of activity overload periods... Please know I am praying for your family.

:hug:hugShannon, for rest and hoping that your mind gets "unfuzzy" soon. Your stories of Janna, Honey, BigBob and you always bring a smile to my day! My prayers for you this week are for persistence and non-stress as you finish your first RR! WTG on that, and I know you can do it!

:hug:hugVicki, for success with your paper! I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful, and successful day! Oh! and give DD a big hug from me, too!

:hug:hugColleen, I hope that school is wonderful for DD (and you) this week! I think of you both each morning, as I give my darlings their "have your best day" hugs and kisses! I hope that things settle into a nice routine.

:cheerfor DH replacing the faucet! That must be such a relief!

and last but not least, :hug:hug to Jenn and Scooby, who I pray are safe, healthy, and not too stressed out.

So tonight is it... the big meeting. I am nervous, but excited to get the air cleared. I am thankful that it was the principal who called the meeting. An "outside" mediator of some authority will be just what we need. I am just praying that the one who needs to hear all of this is the one who does. I am just not sure that that's what will happen. :ohdear

Immediately following her meeting, we have a "board meeting". I spent about 3 hours detailing the agenda for it. I didn't want anything left out. this is all way too stressful. If you get a moment around 7pm eastern time, and could say a prayer of strength for me, I sure could use it!

I plan to speak from my heart, and hope I don't :cry.... My biggest downfall of my personality is that I :cry when I get frustrated, angry, verklempt, or otherwise "cornered". I hate that about me. It can make me look weak, instead of passionate. And on top of it all, Stupid George is here, and he's not happy:(.

well, all, I guess I have rambled enough. Time to go take my own advice, and exhale out some Stress...

I feel so blessed that we all have each other, and it is kind of comforting (in a weird way) that we are all in need of :hug:hug, and and ear, and each other at the same time.

Thank God for ALL of you! You are the dearest friends that anyone could ever hope to find....

I hope you have "your best day"!:hug

:hug:hug:hug Leanne!!! You just made me :cry...we are all so blessed to have each other, especially at times like this. I really don't have anyone to talk to IRL about any of the stuff that goes on in my life, and I thank God that I have all of you to vent to. :manyheart

Good luck today as you face your problem head-on- I have my phone set for 4 o'clock, to say a prayer that you will get through the situation and that the correct people will hear what they need to hear. :hug I, too, cry when I am frustrated, upset, angry, or just generally don't know how to handle a situation. It is irritating and makes me more frustrated for looking "weak." :ohdear

:hug to Mary today, as you type up your report and hand it in.

Beth, :yay for the new dryer part! Thank you for posting your menu, it sounds yummy! How in the world do you make London broil? It is always on sale here, and since dh loves red meat, I thought about trying it. I just don't know how. :shrug Also...on the weekends, do you plan 2 meals and have one for lunch and one for dinner, or do you pick which one you are going to make on that day?

Shannon-ness, hope you had fun at Honey and BigBob's last night! Too cute about Janna "crohaying." :lol

Vicki, good luck on that paper. :lol @ dusting the ceiling fan- I always forget that, too! It sits all winter, then when spring comes and I want to use it, dust flies everywhere!

Joanne, Colleen, Jenn, Scooby- hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

I am at my wits' end with our dog. So far today, he has pooped in Roomie's bedroom, chewed Isabella's sandal and several crayons, and dug up 3 sprinklers. It is only 10:30. :angry:cry I jokingly said he needs a shock collar, and Roomie told me rather snottily that he either needs to go outside more often or he needs training. She's being really nice now though so I think she knows that she was rude. I've never had a dog of my own before so I really don't know what to do about him. Would a spray bottle work (when he chews stuff or digs?) It works for cats. :shrug

Aside from that...dh is home from work today. He got sick this morning and sounds really congested, so I talked him into staying home. We are supposed to get a new helmet for Isabella today- I left hers at the park a while ago. :blush

Here is my menu for the week:

Chicken veggie pasta

chile verde and rice

pancakes, bacon, and eggs

chicken enchiladas, beans, and rice

turkey chili and cornbread

Indian food and naan

spinach and bacon ravioli and homemade french bread

On Mondays I always make some kind of pasta. The Indian food is a boxed thing that I got from Trader Joe's. Dh loves Indian but I don't know how to make it- so that was the best I could come up with. LoL

hi, Stacy-

:hug:manyheart:hug

How old did you say Klaus is? He sounds like he's teething. (the poor baby:() do you have a crate for him? When we first get our puppies, we have a crate for them. It's "their" space, for resting, "time-outs" or for when we are out. (My dog still has hers, and she's 3. although I don't put her in it anymore, she goes there when she is alone or overwhelmed.)

Make sure you keep all doors closed, so he can't get any more toys or shoes. Try a "teething ring" if you have any left over from the girls, or grab a cheap one at Target. also, have you noticed a certain color that he is attracted to in the way of stuffies? Maybe you could pick him up his own at the dollar store. As far as the "potty" training goes, it makes it easier if you don't leave water and food out. about 20 minutes after he eats or drinks, take him outside until he goes. (btw, I had to :rofl about him pooping in roomie's room....Way to stick up for MAMA!:devil)

don't forget, he's like having a toddler around:eek

Those are the tips I can think of right now, if I think of any more, I'll let you know:hug

Vicki - any words of advice for our puppy mama?

I'm a little overwhelmed by all the :manyheart in this group right now and since I never know how to say the right thing at the right time I'm just going to say you are all the besties. Thank you and big :hugs and :manyheart to all of you. I treasure our friendship.

Today is a professional development day, so no school. My friend brought her DS over so that she could take her youngest to a toddler program, so DD had a wonderful play date this morning. We had big talks about getting along with others and being a nice hostess before he got here and things went pretty well. She needed warning a couple times and I had to step in and provide guidance a couple times, but all in all it was a big success. :yay

I baked a gingerbread cake this morning that didn't turn out quite how I wanted it too (not like my mom's). I sat down to do some meal planning and a grocery list and here is what I've come up with so far:

Monday - Pork chops, rice and veggies

Tues - Sandwiches and soup (we have something easy like this once or twice a week because I work over supper time 3 days a week)

I don't even know what London Broil is :shrug I'll have to research that one. Stacy, do you have a chicken enchilada recipe you could share? I would love to try that.

LeaAnne - :hug Thanks for saying such nice, caring things to all of us. It is a wonder that you have so much room in your heart for us with all those kids, but I'm so glad you do! I wear my emotions on my sleeve too. Don't ever think that is a sign of weakness. It is just a sign that you are present in the moment and there are some people who wish they could let emotions out like that. I finish work at 7:00 tonight, so I will spend my drive home in prayer for you. Happy Birthday to your Krissy tomorrow.

Mary - You will be in my prayers this week too. Try to exhale some of that stress as LeaAnne said. Maybe if the weather cooperates go for a walk or do some very physical cleaning to let it out. :hug

Stacy - I'm sure you could find some good resources about training the dog on-line or at your library. I've heard people do use water bottles. We always had the most success with puppies when we crate trained them. They won't go to the bathroom in their crate, they are kept from eating things they shouldn't in their crate and they sleep in their crate. This is a great way to keep them out of the way when you have company that may not be comfortable with dogs too. Of course, you have to get them out and let them run around outside and go for walks lots too. Good luck with sweet little Klaus! I admire your dedication to your DH and family. You do a good job!

Beth - I'll be thinking about you when I go to work this afternoon at 4:00 as you will be heading to work too. Your kids and DH will work things out just fine. Try to enjoy your time at work as an escape from all the mom stuff. Good luck to your twins with their permits tomorrow. My goodness, they do grow up fast don't they?

Shannon - I hope you had a good night at Honey's and Big Bob's. How is sweet little Janna-ness today?

Vicki - I'm glad you are enjoying your sports teams. Has DH made any decisions about his job?

Joanne - You certainly do get a lot done and you are a great mom to help your DD!

I was going to crochet an apple for my cornucopia, but I've been on here for 1/2 an hour :eek Time to get supper organized and then get ready for work. I'll be thinking about all of you as the day goes on.
