My sister has cancer

Just got the news this morning. Not sure what stage or anything yet. Her gyn is sending her to a different doctor the first of next week.

It does not look good. She has been having some problems for 3 years but just now going to the doctor. (no insurance and then started a new job so didn't want to take off time from work, good thing she has insurance now.)

The doctor did say the tissue sample they took was almost all cancer cells.

I would like to make a comfortghan for her.

She loves Simply Soft yarn. But since it is pretty much off the market I think the new Caron Eco yarn well do just as well.

I think Dusty Rose would please her and any colors that would go nicely with that would work. Well now I well take any color. lol I can't find any Dusty Rose near by.

12 inch squares please. 24 well work perfect. (she is a big girl) Ill be making some too.

First time I have done this so please let me know if I should change or add something.

She had her operation and the doctor is pleased with how well it went. It was larger then he expected but managed to still get it all out with the robotic assisted surgery. He well know more once the test get back.

I just completed a 12" in dusty rose using Caron SS - you see it was meant to go to you for your sister.

I am so sorry to hear that she has cancer and will keep her in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well.

Send me you address and I will get it in the mail for you

Goodness, I'm sorry to hear this news. I do hope it's something that can be treated, that she can get better from. I would feel honored to make a square for your sister. As soon as it's done, I will ask for your address.

Thank you

My sister seems to be in shock right now and not feeling it yet. Which is probable best cause waiting for test results is no fun and your mind comes up with the craziest things. She went to work today not sure I would of done that.

But my Dad has been on medication for depression since my Mom passed away 8 years ago. (she had leukemia) And your not suppose to out live your children.

I have not talked to him yet and not sure what to say. I know he well be calm and say things like "We don't know anything yet so no need to worry" But I am sure he is worried. He just keeps it to himself like he has for as long as I can remember.

I on the other hand can't seem to quite crying. I'll stop for a while, then start again. Guess we all handle things different but I don't remember crying this much when my Mom got sick. Might be cause we didn't like each other very much but she was still my Mom and I still loved her.

She has an appointment to see a specialist on the 23rd. Seems there is only one doctor in her insurance net work. But fortunately he is suppose to be the best in our area.

The waiting is bad she wants it out now.

:)I just finished a baby afghan that I used dusty rose, I had just enough left for one square, please pm your address and I will get it in the mail. I noticed that someone else is sending pink, I also used pink and a lighter brown in the afghan, I can't remember the exact color names, if you think they will work I could make one out of each of those colors too.

I know about no insurance and can understand why she did not go.

I would of just let them hound me for the money if I could get the appointment in the first place with no insurance and no money. As I recall from my last appointment they wanted paid before you left and then I had to file my insurance.(This was 15 years ago when I still had a little insurance left I had one of those caped policies. Special spin off from my Dad's work (IBM) that he got me when I turned 18.) Can't do that now no money and no insurance.

But I could go to the emergency room at the state hospital and then they would set me up to see one of their doctors. Put the last time I did that they did set up the appointment and the notice I got in the mail said I had to bring 200 with me for the follow up test. We had to still eat and pay the house note so never went. If the problem I went for happens again Ill just go to the ER.

But yes she should of went anyways. But then again with no insurance she could not of had much done.
