baby jacket

I finished my first piece of clothing! Woohoo! It's the baby jacket from the Feb/Mar 2005 issue of crochetme. My friend is expecting a little boy at the end of August, and she doesn't particularly care for typical baby boy blue, so I made it out of a variegated Homespun instead. It looked great on the back, but then the variegations got weird so half the front is dominated by purple and half by green. I was so upset I was going to frog the whole thing, but my mom wouldn't let me (thank goodness she was visiting and gave me a pep talk). Anyway, here's the link, so you experts be kind and don't look too closely or you'll see the mistakes. LOL!

edited to add: Sorry the green walls of my bedrrom are making the colors off in the photo, but that means you can't see the weirdness of the variegations in the yarn!

I have been thinking of making that baby jacket for the next baby shower I have to attend...I REALLY like it in those homespun colours! Did you have to change the hook size or anything?
