I Finally FELTED!!!!!- A Bag

I did the washing machine method and used pre-shrunk wool. I had to do it twice though......I'm so jazzed.....

Those are the school colors, so I figured I'd give it to my daughter's little sisiter-in-law for Christmas. She's just entered Jr. Hi. so maybe I'll make a hat and scarf to go with it. She doesn't get very many nice things and I like to make her stuff. She is always so appreciative.

I was afraid to try it, too, until I saw some place that you could do it in the washer. I'm allergic to wool if I wear it and I was afraid if I scrubbed it by hand I would break out. I crochet with it fine as long as I remember to not rub my eyes!

 

I'm already starting another clutch.....guess what everybody's getting for Christmas?

Very cute! I liked the felting! I made a bag which I felted and it came out so cute. It's just amazing how BIG you have to make the original item before you stick it in the washer!

I'd say it shrunk a good 2-3 inches all around.

No pattern, just a rectangle done in hdc and then sewn 3/4 of the way up. Oh, I did the the off-white in front post dc every other stitch.

did you felt it as a rectangle then sew it together or did you felt it after you sewed it all together
