my felted granny bowl

Mine isn't as nice as the one librarycat posted. My bowl is really flimsy. If I wash it again and make it shrink up more would that make it stiffer?

You can wash it as many times as you like. It should shrink more and in doing so, become a stiffer fabric.

The more you felt it the thicker it becomes, but it also shrinks down a bit each time. Do you felt in the washing machine or by hand? I always felt in my washer and find that I usually get the degree of felting after 2 wash/rinse cycles.

Super, it reminds me that I intended making one when the last one was shown. I have a nice bowl that was supposed to be a hat but didn't shrink enough, even after several tries. Makes a great bowl, though. Zaraliz

I washed it in the machine twice. Once on a quick cycle and it didn't shrink much and then I did a full cycle and it shrunk down a lot more, but still flimsy. I think I'll try one more time.
