woolcat-did you do the monique bear in thread or yarn? How much of either did you use? I was thinking of making one of these as I love bears also and you can never have to many. :) It would also be a cute gift to give to a friend of mine who is due in april.

If I translated it right, thread is for doilys and other fine things, crochet with small hooks?

If thats right, I used yarn.:D Its 53% Microfiber, 26% Viscose and 21% Poyamide. I bought 50g of it and needed about 2/3 of it for the teddy.:)

I crochet with a 3mm-hook.

I hope this information helps.:)

Which pattern did you use for the bear you just posted? and also on your picture album you have a yellow bear(almost looks like winnie the pooh :D), what pattern did you use for that one?

Everyone's teddies are so cute! Wow, woolcat, you are making a lot, too. I like the blue bear. Instead of 'Bear in the Big Blue House' you have a blue bear in the house. :P

I have to make this bear!! :eek I love it!!! I hope she gets the pattern up soon. :hook Meanwhile I might start another one. It's funny because I just ordered a bear (Floppy Friends from KristieMN) pattern last night, now I want this one, too.

I really wish I had time to take on a teddy bear right now! I'd love to start one, but haven't had the time to with my new job. If this CAL is still going on in a couple of months, I'll def. join in, I have a couple of really cute browns that'd be great for a teddy bear, plus my cousin would love a teddy in his favorite team (WVU Mountaineers all the way!!) colors, and I do have quite a bit of navy blue and gold just lying around. Hmmm, May just have to start this one sooner than I thought... I'll let y'all know when I start anyways!

Has anyone tried crocheting with Bernat baby lash? :sigh I bought two skeins of it today to make a bear with. :( I can barely tell what I am doing! :loco It makes my eyes all buggy. I really wanted to make a bear out of it, too. Maybe I'll keep trying.

I do have another bear almost done (no arms or legs, though.) It's turning out pretty cute. :hook

Welcome sunflowermom1972!! There's no rules for this one. Just let us know how you're doing and if you need any help. Most important of all is make sure to show us pics when you're done!

I've decided to start with this one, all I have left to do is sew on his head and give him a face. There's a couple others I want to do too. DH will be happy I'm finally making some teddy bears He used to collect them when he was a kid. I was told he had over 300!!:eek

I was thinking about making a teddy bear for my six or seven year old nephew (I think he's seven.) He is the furthest type of kid from what you would think would want a teddy bear though... Do you think everyone likes teddy bears? Or should I crochet him a hacky sack? :sigh He is into those games, (I can't keep up anymore... all we have is gameboys and the old nintendo....I don't know what he has...)

I don't know though; because our kids are into games, too, but they also like teddy bears... :think I was going to make it for part of a 'I'm a Big Brother' gift...

I think most kids that age still like stuffed animals. Maybe you could make him a hacky sack too and have the bear match the colors of the hackey sack.

Here's the mini bear rug I made. I'm not very good at putting faces on. I thought I did a pretty good job on the eyes until I sewed the head on and realized they made him look like...well, a dead bear rug:think I hope hubby likes it anyways!!
