New stitch diva poncho pattern!

Tiffany

Question

I bought this pattern tonight from the Stitch Diva. It's called the Hiawatha poncho. It might move to the top of my future project list. I would definitely wear this one! :)h

I forgot! The pattern calls for a thick/thin wool yarn. Rebecca, you'd better get busy!! :P

I got my main color yarn in today. :yay I'm going to shop around for the contrasting colors today. The Berocco Suede might look good for the weaving. :thinking1

oooo, i love this pattern:)h

It's very modern poncho. the manos del uruguay is pricey, but the texture looks absolutely wonderful. the berroco suede would probably be really nice for the contrast color. i need a warm winter poncho and just might splurge on the yarn for this one...then again in a few days might I regain my senses.

yarn snob on a red heart budget:lol

The woolspun does look good and at a cheaper price. :yay I looked it up today and the Manos del Uruguay is 138 yds per skein, so it would be best to figure out the yardage that you need and go from there.

You are so evil... now I may have to splurge and buy that pattern as well <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/yay.gif" />

I think the color it shows is just beautiful, especially with jeans.

Hmm, another project to add??!! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/oops.gif" />

Ooooooooooooooooh that is purty!!!!

Hey Tiff, our friend at Over The Rainbow Yarns has a thick/thin cotton that is yummy <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/wow.gif" /> I have 3 skeins (375 yds each) in a pale, earthy mix that would be fabulous with this pattern :::must be strong::::

Depending on the size you want, it goes from x-small to 5X. I loved the keyhole opening so couldn't help myself in purchasing. For the 1X size, which I'm going to assume I need, but maybe the L, it takes 9 skeins or approx 900/1000 yds. The pattern also lists substitutes, so I've been shopping around for good deals on it.

I like the color that it's made in, but I also think it would look good in red or a deep blue.

i like that one too...... i like the way it has the keyhole opening. it would work well for those who are a bit busty (me:ohdear ) cute. ahh! how much yarn does it call for? it took me about 4 hours to spin that 1.5 oz belt on my drop spindle. :wha i'm getting a little quicker at it now, though.

but anyway, that's about the only poncho pattern i think i've seen that i would consider wearing - now, tons of the others for my daughter, but i like that one.:fluffy

Tiff,

I saw that last night also. I really love the type of poncho that is. The neckline is really appealing to me also. Please post a picture if you make one in the near future.
