More hats

Okay, I'm fairly ecstatic. Since I've started crocheting, I have wanted to make what I would call a bucket hat. A hat with a flatter top and a brim, like the hats that Coach makes. But I couldn't do it. And other than a fairly decent one that Lion Brand has, there were no patterns. I finally figured out a way to make one, that I like better than Lion Brand, and it's my own, which I feel more comfortable with. Anyway, here are two. One I will try to sell on Etsy, the other, the Color Purple hat, is being sent to Oprah as part of a promotional package for Etsy.com. Hopefully everyone won't be sending in purple items.

Thanks so much everyone. Yearnin, I've been using more expensive yarns lately, hoping it pays off in the end. There's a big difference between a homespun hand dyed yarn, and plain old acrylic.

Thanks so much. Not sure right now. I had a really hard time recreating it for the second hat, and I didn't make it out of standard ww yarn, so I have to think about it. Also, I might decide to sell it, since I think it's really different from anything I've seen out there. I will definitely post in the future if I do offer it though.

You are just enjoying making all these hats, aren't you? They are really great and because you are starting to work up several different styles you should be sure to copywrite them....you may want to publish a pattern book of them some day! Fantastic job....and working with the finer yarns is so much fun, isn't it?
