It was easy to follow!! I gave this to my kitchen/bathroom swap partner and now I am making one for myself !!!

I tried making that pattern multiple times and always ended up with too many stitches and lots of ruffles. Kind of hard to set a plate on a ruffled mat. Guess I shouldn't have had that glass of wine first.

Terry - the same thing happened with me, especially with the second one I made. I think I crochet too loose and thought I would try a third one and I would have to do tighter. I still like it.

I made my sister a set of four of those for Christmas last year, in yellow and white (2 each contrasting differently; I posted thephoto here somewhere)--she thought they were doilies! I agree, it was an easy pattern to follow, and my first thing made with Aunt Lydia's. I enjoyed it. Yours look gorgeous! Patty
