My first thread doily

Here is a photo of my doily made with #3 thread and 0 hook. It was a lot of fun and not difficult at all. Slowly but surely I am learning all the little ins and outs. My husband moved it so its not centered very well and not blocked at all.

And it is a lot of little ins and outs - you put the hook in, loop the thread over, pull the hook out. When you think about it, the variations you can make on that simple process are amazing.

Very pretty! It certainly doesn't look like a first effort. Are you going to use it or frame it? And like everyone else has said, I love the color you used.

Thanks all of you for the compliments. I will probably use it on a table that was made in the 20's. Need to block first. I really like colored doilies best so that's why I chose the navy.
