I Got a Spinning Wheel for Christmas!

My husband got me a working antique Saxony spinning wheel for Christmas. It hasn't arrived yet, and i can't wait for it to get here.

 

I'm going to have to take lessons to learn how to use it!

I'll definitely show you the yarn I make. If everyone promises to be nice, I may even share photos of what I make as I'm learning. You can't be perfect right away, and I'm willing to show my work in progress to becoming a good spinner.

 

I think I'll be going to our local Roc Day on January 4, put on by the local Fiber Arts Guild: a whole day of spinning, weaving, knitting, and crochet demos at the local library.

I just found out my good friend designer (and spinner) Renee Rodgers, aka Crochet Renee, is sending me some special fiber to use with my wheel.

I can't wait for it to arrive so I can start practicing!
