A summery green placemat

Taking a break from yet another stashbuster afghan, last night I made this placemat (and will make three or five more for a set) from Bernat Handicrafter Cotton, using the cover pattern from an old Better Homes and Gardens book called "White Crochet" that I'd forgotten I own (yes, the mat on the book was crocheted in white). Whew, that was a long sentence.

Because it has that sweet little flower in the center, I kind of wish I had clear glass dinner plates. But I might give these away or use them for a charity fund raiser.

If Bernat would make more nice solid colors, I'd do more projects like this.

Thanks, everybody. I'm halfway into another one like that, and have another couple of placemat patterns to try, all making me lose interest in the sampler afghan I'm just finishing up. So many ideas, so little time . . .
