Towel toppers

Here are a few towel toppers I am donating to a nursing home festival handmade booth. These were easy and fun and not too hot to work on during this hot, hot summer we're having. There is no sewing on these except for the buttons - my kind of project! I came across the first pattern in a book but have seen some similar ones on line. The second pattern is a free one at crochetpatterncentral that I altered and used a 3 inch round ring with. It is this pattern worked on a ring: http://cocoacream.wordpress.com/pattern-place/basic-towel-ring/

How do you attach the crochet to the towels that don't have the ring?

There is a chain of stitches that attaches from one side of the topper to the other...it is hidden...you hang the towel over that. Here is a link to a pattern that is somewhat like mine...a free pattern. That might help because I don't think I explained it too well!

Could you please give us the name of the book the first towel topper was in. They are all very pretty

They turned out very nicely! Kind of you to do them for charity. I have wanted to try out the one on a ring. Seems such a good idea and NO cutting towels in half or sewing or worrying about fraying. You may have just given me some inspiration to try it out. :)

Debra Kay, definitely worth giving them a try - such a quick project!
