It's a Möbius strip (or a Moebius strip - I've got a German keyboard so I can make the fancy o with two dots ) and it's kind of an unending circle - for us crocheters, it's like crocheting a cowl with a twist.

 

This is the Wiki entry and it has a nice picture so you can see what it looks like. I'm useless at maths so I don't understand most of the explanation but it looks pretty, doesn't it? It's great idea for a scarf, really interesting form (and practical, too - probably very warm.)

It is a strip that is twisted and sewn together. I made one over the summer for my sister. They are easy and fun.

LOL, I made my first one by mistake when I was trying to crochet a cowl in the round and twisted my starting chain.

I made my first Mobius scarf a few days ago after reading about it here and liked it so much that I made one for a friend. And then another. And another. She now has three and LOVES THEM!!! Thanks for the inspiration.

It is a half turn. The pattern can be made as a stole, too.
