What to make...

Recommended Posts

I bought some of the Caron Pounders that were on sale at Joann.com. It arrived a few days ago and can't figure out what to make with it. The colors are soft sage and lilac...3 skeins of each. I was looking through my patterns last night (all of them are afghans...as that's primarily what I make) and none of the patterns really "spoke" to me. Maybe I need to buy some more books? lol. Anyway, I'm not sure if I should make an afghan using both colors...would these 2 colors look ok together? Should I make 2 separate afghans...one of each color? I've even played with the idea of buying a few more skeins...maybe in off-white or cream...to incorporate with the 2 existing colors and make an afghan using all 3 colors. I've even considered using this yarn for the Snuggles I make, but I like to use Simply Soft for those, because it's softer than the Pounders. Thanks for letting me ramble. Any suggestions...other than to shut up now? lol.

I can understand... I've got 4 skeins of variegated yarn that I bought a while back, and not sure what I want to do with it. I think, not sure...it's ILTY, so it's pretty soft and would make a nice afghan... but I need some other colors to blend in so I'll have enough. I need some other shades of blue or maybe white to go with it.

Round or regular ripples as well. I am planning a round ripple with the pale green, soft pink, the lilac and maybe even the rose for my youngest niece Rosie. :)

I recall a while back going to a site that would let you put in the colors you were thinking about to see if they went well together. Does anybody remember this? I no longer have the name of it as it was done on a computer that long since went to electronic heaven.

Here's a ghan you could do, you could make two of them with the amount you have, I'm working on one using peach and cream and it's taking a little less than 3 lbs of yarn http://promotions.drgnetwork.com/newsletters/talkingcrochet/pages/TCNL2507_patt.html

I have lilac and sage in my stash and I think they look nice together... imo

I made 2 comfortghans with those pounders. One w/one color (used 3 skeins) one w/3 (used 3 skeins). I did a 12 inch square and then the flat braid join as you go method:

Join as you go:

They turned out great - I think any 12 inch square would do and there are a ton of free patterns online.
