True Blue Kangaroo

I posted the story of True Blue Kangaroo on my blog in about February. It seems to have taken me forever to write the pattern up and have her tested but I am pleased to say she is now finished and available at etsy.

 

This roo is about 12inches 30cm tall and worked in a chunky yarn. I designed this one more as a little kids cuddly and you can see the size difference between True Blue and my wallaby joeys. In real life that is the difference between a wallaby and a kangaroo. Wallabies are smaller and have daintier features. I always describe it as the same way a rat and a mouse are similar but different. Kangaroos live on the wide open plains as well as the bush, where as wallabies live in the scrub and of cause there are the rock wallabies. Both are iconic Aussie animals and I love them to bits.

awww one of my daughters favouite books is called "where are you blue kangaroo" its about a little girl who leaves her toy on the bus and at the zoo! yours is sooooo cute!
