Scarves in the desert

They are beautiful scarves, and look nice and warm. And lest anyone not be aware, it gets dang cold in the desert, folks! Here in the Sonora Desert of southern Arizona, it was 22 this morning when I was walking my dogs at 6:30 a.m. Brr! It's 38 degrees right now just before lunch. The pipes froze at work so we have no water and no working bathrooms (!), there's snow on the mountains 20 miles from downtown, and it's a gorgeous winter day in the desert. Desert only means hot in the summer. :D (Well, maybe not in the Sahara Desert, but certainly in our Nevada and Arizona deserts. And this concludes today's geography lesson. :P)

Hey nevadamama,

Love the scarfs! The colours and patterns are beautiful!

I'm so glad someone else from Nevada and the southwest region

belongs to Crochetville, too.

I don't know what part of Nevada your in, but I'm from the

Las Vegas area and the last few days have been darn cold

for us. NW Las Vegas was 19 degress last night according

to the 11 p.m. news. They even had some snow flurries

the last couple of days. Caliente was -5 at 11 p.m.

Yesterday when driving to Michaels, I drove by some yards

that were covered in ice chunks because people forgot

to turn off their spinklers. The weather is very weird this year.

My sister and relatives who live in Michigan have had

warmer days then we've had this winter.

DesertCrocheter, I feel for you, too.

I love sweaters, jackets, crocheted hats, scarves, gloves, etc

and now it's cold enough to wear them.
