Back or front loops - You decide

Recommended Posts

Just discovered the use of crocheting in just the back loops or the front loops only (I prefer the back loop only method)

Just wondering if everyone else finds the change it makes facinating or if I am just crazy! :badidea:idea

Any cool patterns or projects using just either loops??

Cool webite for loop manipulation

check out crochetandknitting.com

there's a pattern for gloves that uses crochet in back loops to make a ribbed wrist band.

and there's TONS of patterns out there that use back loops.

but if i want to make a ribbing, i use double crochet around the post. (dcfp/dcbp)

i don't like using the front or back loops.. it can gap and pull.

Another vote for back loops. There's a cute hat pattern that is worked all in the back loops to make it look like ribbing. Can be single, half double or double crochet. It's worked verically, then sewn into a tube and the top gathered. I recently saw something (dishcloth?) made by doing SC in alternating front and back loops. Should give a textured look. I haven't tried it yet though.
