Purse Along

Sorry I haven't gotten back to ya'll in a while. I actually have no progress to report yet. As I'm just learning, I've been a little slow getting to the point where I can get started. I've also been a little busy. Anyway, I'm hoping to get going this week. I feel bad that I'm the one who started this crochet-along, and I have no progress as of yet.:blush Seems as if a lot of ya'll are doing good, though:cheer

Well I am going to try this I just want to talk to someone. I make purses and bags out of plastic bags. Right now i am getting burned out on crocheting with plastic after makeing nearly 30 purses and bags for a craft show and not even selling one. It's a disapointment that i didn't want. Now i have the internet (only one week now) and i have been looking up new patterns and how i may go about tring to sell them.

Hi! I just wanted to post pictures of bags I just finished. They're both drawstring type purses. The pink one is for my niece, and the ecru colored one is for my sister. It has a sage green lining inside, that I'm proud to say, I sewed! I don't sew, but I tried it anyway. :) I think they came out pretty well. The pink one has a pocket inside too, which was very easy.

Oh wow, that Drops.com pattern is the most beautiful one I have seen....I would love to make it in all crochet if possible...The knit would take toooooo long and crochet goes so much faster...Since it is a basic folded rectangle, crochet will work....after wips I will get to it....:clap

Neicy and Danijoy - great purses!

JesseCat - that'd be great if you're doing the Drops purse too! I'm working on my felted swatch now - having a few problems to get it felted evenly - then I'll figure out the measurements and hopefully at the beginning of next week I'll be starting. I think the bottom of the purse is slightly wider than the top and I want to try to make mine that way. You're right, crocheting it should be easy and fast. I'm also planning on putting a zipper at the top (under the flap), for safety's sake

I'm here, really I am! Work has been insane, but I now have a week off to make some progress - YAY! So I should have something to post in the next day or two.

I've been checking out everyone's progress and there are some really nice purses. Well done!

:clap

(... and that Drops pattern is to die for!)

Sorry pic is fuzzy - had to use my son's camera phone.

Here is a pic of my Christmas bag/tote for this purse CAL. Made this for a charity auction out of dark green homespun with cream mittens. Other mitten is on the other side of the tote with the chain connecting the two mittens.

If I hadn't ran out of time (imagine that!!), I would have taken a pic of both sides, but I was lucky to get this one pic done before the auction. :lol Just realized I can change my sig line now also :D

Lisa, the mitten was really the right touch to add. That is so cute.

I've been working on a purse today but it's bigger than it looked in the pic so I think I'll go looking for another pattern. Any suggestions for sites to check out?

That's the one I've settled on, too! I was looking all over for where I saw it then found it when I went to look at what a coffee cup cosy is. LOL I'm doing it in a blue variegated knitting worsted for my grand daughter. Blue is her favorite color. I'm going to make a hat to go with it. Have you started yours yet, Tami?

I'm going to start this one later today. Right now I'm finishing the beret. I'm on the last two rounds of sc then I have to crochet the bill on it and I'm done. Hurray! This will be the first Christmas gift I've completed but not the only one I've started. My list keeps changing somewhat as I go along.

Tami, did you need the pattern? Here it is. I had it in the background since I've been making that one, too.

Darski, I don't think she meant that it's on her Bloq. I searched all over it and couldn't find it either.
