Wedding and crochet

Tari Nienna

Question

I am getting married this September. <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/hug.gif" /> Crochet is a big part of my life, it is a passion and I was wondering how I could make it show on that special day.

We will have more than a hundred guests, I can't see myself doing the favors...what else?

Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks

<span style="font-family:comic sans ms; color:purple;">You could make something crocheted for your husband to be as a wedding gift. Maybe an afghan in his favorite colors or something equally cozy.

Or how about some crocheted thread flowers in your wedding colors to tuck in to your bouquet?</span>

In the current projects thread, I think it was Hamlette who posted about making little teacups for her sis' wedding as favors. on a smaller scale, maybe you could make something crocheted for the centerpieces? flowers or whatnot...?

I think a crocheted garter is so classy/classic too... sexy in an old-fashioned way!

My vote is for

1. Crocheted Flowers for your hair, and your wedding party

2. Crocheted Flowers for you to carry, or for your hubby-to-be's tux

3. crocheted gloves for you and your bridemaids...even your little flower girl!

4. crocheted cake topper (maybe some doves or bells)

5. crocheted thong for the wedding night? lol

6. a tiny capelet for you and your wedding party to match your wedding colors

7. Scarves and hats for your mother and your mother in law to be

What is your wedding "theme"??

Congratulations! I hope it's a wonderful special day, the first of a lovely lifetime of them!

How about a crocheted drawstring bag for the bridal dance? Maybe lined with satin, with beads around the edge?

For my brothers wedding. I had made the flower girls basket to carry the rose petals. Also made three baskets for the registry table. One was used for flowers and the other two were with the favors.

Also had made small little ones to add to the tables with the mints in them.

And for my SIL I made her a purse to carry for the money dance..

i love the idea of crocheting your bridal bouquet, something gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, and they'll never die. they could be done beautifully with 1/8" ribbon, which would work up lots faster than thread, keep its shape, and shine nicely, too.

I am overwhelmed by your replies! <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/heartpump.gif" /> <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/woohoo2.gif" />

So many great ideas! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/clap.gif" />

I don't really have a theme other that it will be a country wedding... because that is where I live and that my favorite flower is the daisy, I want a lot of those. We will the ceremony outside by the water and the reception is in and old stone building with beautiful hardwood floor and ceiling.

So for now I will start on a basket for my "Daisy girl". I will probably make the garter, the one I am planning on wearing is my mom's and I don't want to give it away so I will crochet one for the "throw".

I will post my progress

Thank you again, I am very touch by your response <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/grouphug.gif" />, I never got so many answer to a post.
