We have 12 members but 7 are the most prolific and the remainder make a shawl now and then. One of the active members doesn't even belong to our church but we love to have her and she makes beautiful shawls.

This is the kind of project that rewards both the recipient and the maker. It has enriched all our lives.

I used that pattern to make my mom a shawl it's nice to see how good it looks with differnt yarns....

as far as I'm concerned, a shawl has to be traingular; anything rectangular is a stole. I know that technically I am wrong, they both are shawls, but not in my book. You'd think that your group would appreciate the effort to individualize these prayer shawls, making them even more meanigful.

I agree with this and my thinking is the same, a shawl is triangle and a stole is rectangular...
